Watching DVR from 722 on laptop requires sling?

Yes. Without the sling adapter, you can only manage the DVR.

It's worth it, IMHO. I ordered it the first day it came out. I use the sling adapter all the time.

It'll also work if you have a regular Slingbox. The Slingbox Solo I've had for several years works much more reliably via remote access on my Dish account. Just had to enter the Sling ID# and password.

I used a Slingbox Solo for several years. Now my sons have it connected to their Vip 722 & I have a Sling adapter on mine.

We ordered the Sling Adapter in the first week. My wife likes being able to check stuff out that's on the living room DVR on her iPad in bed, or from her Mac in her office.
