Went dish shopping

I took today off work and traveled with a friend to Melbourne, Florida to do some dish shopping at a place called Astro Too.

We completely wiped out their inventory. We only left a few broken dishes.

We were able to get the following for less than $90
3 - 1.8m Channel Master dishes
4 - 1.2m Channel Master dishes
2 - Primestar dishes
2 - Primestar feed support legs
2 - Mounts

I plan on playing with the 1.8m Channel Master dish this weekend and seeing how well I can get C-Band to perform.

We left an 8' fiberglass dish that was too big to fit onto the truck with the other 9 dishes if anyone is interested. It was only $10.

I ordered feed support legs and a CM junction clamp for this 1.8m dish today and will be receiving them tomorrow from Future Vision Satellite.

The mount for this dish requires a 4.5" O.D. pole. I never heard of any that big. I may just design my own.

I will let everyone know how well it performs on both KU and C band.

That's 4" schedule 40 pipe. Call a steel suppier in your area.
