They didn't seem to plan to well for this staduim for television. Notice thre is not many shots from behind home plate looking at the pitcher, and when they do your looking through the net making it hard to see.

To be honest, the stadium didn't look like anything special. I know that's a slap in the face to $1.5 billion, but really, I'm being completely honest here.

STADIUM OPENS WITH A BOMBER DEBACLE

From the NY Post........

home_sports.jpg

Jose Veras and Damaso Marte are nothing more than foot soldiers in the high-priced Yankees army that took over their new Stadium.

Yet, with the city poised to drink in the excitement and celebrate a new Yankees era, the relievers turned the $1.5 billion ballpark into the world's largest outdoor commode.

The miserable performances turned a flawed pitching duel between Cliff Lee and CC Sabathia into an easy 10-2 Indians win that was witnessed by 48,271 customers who were so docile you wondered if they received free sleeping pills at the turnstiles to mark the opening of the ballpark.

Someone said a 16 ounce beer was like $9.00 . Oh man, I'm the most frugal guy in the world. That 42 inch plasma and MLB package is like free now that I look at it. Fenway isn't much better.

Hard to say for sure without having been there, but on TV it sure doesn't look that impressive, maybe when compared to the old one, but compared to what other cities have built....I got to agree with you Matt.

Gimmie CitiField over Yankee Stadium any day, boys. More "earthy" and "blue collar". Plus great sight lines from all angles (so they say).
