Canton, Oh
I tried to search the forums for this but didnt find anything so I figured I would just ask, I know there is a software tool somwhere that will tell you if you put in your co-ordinates. The reason Im asking is that I'm thinking of moving and would like to see what I might be able to get. The co-ordinates are 62N 155W.

85.0°W AMC 16 Ku Elevation:0.5°
91.0°W Galaxy 11 C/Ku Elevation:3.2°
97.0°W Galaxy 25 C/Ku Elevation:5.8°
103.0°W AMC 1 C/Ku Elevation:8.2°
111.0°W Anik F2 C/Ku Elevation:11.2°
123.0°W Galaxy 10R C/Ku Elevation:15.1°

Your closest true south satellite would be: 148.0°W EchoStar 1.2 Ku
19.6° Elevation, that is very low, so I hope you have a very clear view to the South at that location.

First tool:
I put your 62N 155W into maps.google.com and found you are talking about Alaska
(had to zoom out a lot as Google didn't have much detail)

Second tool:
Any program that lists the birds for your location, would work.
Here's just one of them: GeoSatFinder - Satellite Finder Calculator - Satellite AV
Put in your city/state, or your zip code, or your coordinates, and it'll print out a table with aiming angles to all the birds.
The ones above the horizon are fair game.

The listing qwert1515 posted above is a bleak example :(
Are you sure you really want to go to Alaska?
Unless someone is paying you tons of money... well, enough said.

dang. If you move to Alaska you will need a larger dish.

But you can get some cool stuff on C-band from there :)

thats what i was afraid of, but its not a done deal only thinking about it....maybe have to get a big c band dish.

Star Choice is doable---with the proper antenna(s).
Those numbers look strangely close to McGrath....not a whole lot
out in those neighborhoods except the occasional gold mine.

I put in a couple of twelve footers at a place called Flat, in the
Iditarod Gold District, about 90 miles west of there, in the early
1980s. Spent 13 years in the State Of Alaska, from 1974-1987.

Check out the Global website's Satellite Pointing Angles section for a
listing of everything in the arc----a number of Alaska locations are listed.

Don't freeze! I'll be thinking of you on my next trip to the mines in Siberia.

Yea its McGrath, right now we are only considering it but if there is an offer I will probobly take it...would like to get away for awhile.
