Since a few people have posted sitings of various signals at 61.5, I figured it was time to consolidate them all to this thread here in the appropriate Uplink Center at SatelliteGuys.US. I'm also sure the engineers at DishNetwork would like to see what signal strengths we are seeing out and about in the real world.

What can you do to help? First of all you'll need to have a dish installed for 61.5 and an 8PSK capable receiver. All of the HD receivers including the 6000 model w/ the 8PSK add on are capable along with a couple of SD receivers such as the 311.

Please follow-up with this thread as things change we will be looking for new transponder readings.

Please post your readings in the following format (please make a note after the signal strength if it does not display as locked 61.5):

(Sample data below)

Area: 70802 (Zip or City, State)
61.5 Dish type: Dish 300 (Dish 500, 90cm, 24 inch, etc.)
Receiver: VIP 722 L4.49
1: 0%
2: 50%
3: 20% (Wrong satellite)
4: 0%
5: 30% (Wrong satellite)
..... etc.

digiblur, what are the steps to do for us folks that don't know what in the world you guys are talking about? I guess start out with menu and then what? Sorry, still a little new at all this satellite stuff and want to join in. Thanks for your help.

Menu 6-1-1 (System Setup, Installation, Point Dish), then cycle through the transponders. Make sure to select the correct satellite!

OK, Thanks RedSavina. Do yall want readings from all the transponders on 61.5? How often to yall want them? This may be a silly question, but should the signal strength be the same at all receivers? I would think not, but not sure. Thanks again.

On many of the Not Acquired TPs, I had to wait as long as 20 seconds to get the signal lock.

I'm guessing that the lack of "Not Acquired" TPs has to do with the S/W version...

Very interesting! Looks like the beams are kicking in quite a few places. When I get back I will definitelt be cross referencing this with some of the maps we have.

Those that are missing odd transponders from 1-23 keep an eye on those and report back any changes.

ptech, I would check again as it is impossible to have a lock on all 32 TP's at 61.5 at this time.

Keep the area reports rolling in!

Do you suppose my two "wrong satellite" messages are really crosstalk through my switches? The 625 is viewing the LNBs through a "DPP32" switch I built from a DPP twin, with inputs from the passthrough on a DP34.

Check TheList 61.5 section and sort by TP. You will be able to determine by looking at the national channels. Don't let the new test channels confuse you.
