I wonder what this guy is like in person, away from the field? He strikes me as being an idiot. Apparently he can't be trusted to do his own thinking. He acts like he is "above" all this. He better find another PR service, this one forgot to tell him that hanging with his cousin is not the brightest thing to do right now. Maybe all those 'roids scrambled his brains.

I have dealt with him MANY times Paul in baseball charity events throughout Miami and he has sponsored quite a few of the boys I coach basketball tournaments when they are not playing baseball....and he is a complete arrogant ass!! Not in a very vocal way....but the way he carries himself. I have ALSO see him in events WITH HIS FAMILY and it it a complete Jekyll/Hyde thing....and honest to goodness family man that actually LOOKS and SOUNDS like a humble guy. Also, my best friend is a Miami-Dade cop that does alot of security for big games in football, basketball and baseball games throughut the county....and he states A-Rod has attended quite a few of the games, especially if Miami Christian is involved(his high school alma mater)...and he has confirmed this many times with countless stories.

And YOU keep missing the point and comparing apples to oranges. NO ONE is EVER going to come out and just say...."oopps, I f***ed up and took PEDs....." before THEY HAVE TO.....no one! When THIS MUCH money AND reputation is at stake.....to them, it is better to NOT tell the truth.

....Here is a better example....I would say, that 7 out of 10 or even 9 out of 10 that are cheating on their spounces....will initial LIE because what is at stake.

...does THAT make sense to you.....??!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

So,, it is better to lie than to tell the truth when you have been caught? I guess you don't have kids because parents I know always tell there kids, " I would rather have you tell me the truth from the start than to make matters worse with a lie." And for those spouses who cheat and lie when they are caught, you don't think the lie to start with will make matters worse or prolong the situation?

I am not saying people come out and admit to things. I am saying when you are caught, and you admit to those issues, you better tell the truth from the start or you will make matters worse. Anyone to just accept lying as easily as you do, I just don't understand.

I have TWO kids and at the ripe lying age of 4 and 9. Your comparison is APPLES AND ORANGES!! I do not encourage lying....nor do I teach it. BUT, because NO ONE HERE has never been in a situation where your reputation or/and MILLIONS of dollars are at stake...we wouldn't know what WE would do...do we?? Have YOU ever been in a situation like that...where MILLIONS of dollars and a very good reputation is at stake?!! I sure as sh*t have not and I really don't know HOW I would have handle it. Hell, like I stated before....HALL OF FAMER Mike Schmidt ADMITTED HE WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING if it was THAT prevalent when he played.

So you keep missing the point about not telling the whole truth. PERSONALLY, I would rather have him tell the whole truth...but I got from him exactly what I wanted....he admitted it and he apologized.....period!! There are a TON of others that are at fault and MORE that have not told the truth....why ain't you bitching about the owners?? They have gone all high and mighty about how this has tainted the game. Why are you not bitching about MLB headquarters??!! They knew what was going on and kept THEIR collective mouths shut and pretended nothing was going on...turned a blind eye....that to me is JUST AS BAD as lying!!!

IF my wife were to EVER cheat on me....I don't need gory details. "Have you been cheating? Is IT OVER? Do you apologize to me, our children and both our personal families??" THAT'S IT....I DO NOT need the details. As the saying goes, "I want steak....but I don't wanna know how you killed the cow.....!";)

EXACTLY, that's the crux of the A-Rod* debate: Why did he feel he needed to add those ridiculous excuses and reasons for using PEDs?? Why didn't he learn from someone like Andy Pettitte's presser last year, keep it short & sweet, admit you did wrong, implicate no one but yourself, and don't add absurd angles that you know the press will hunt down.

This was all done with a high-powered and expensive PR team. Maybe he would have been better off consulting with some of us first!!!

Your guess is as good as mine. Like I said, he has ALOT more to lose than Petitt did when he got nailed. Maybe he is hiding names....using the same "code" that cops use when they don't wanna turn in the bretheren(sp?) when they are dirty.
Frankly, I don't care. I got from him, as a pro ball player, what I wanted. He admitted to it and apologized.....that's it...end of story..nothing to see so move along! He does not owe ANYONE ANYTHING except 40+ homers, 125+ RBIs and approx. .300+ batting average...THAT IS IT!

The reason I have not brought up MLB is because our discussion was based upon my observation that A-Rod has been the one who has pro-longed this entire thing. A-Rod is in no legal trouble and is in no trouble of losing his millions because of this. He, for whatever reason, has not been forthright. The Yankees have even told him, according to the media, the famous cousin he mentioned is not welcome around their camp. Now, maybe it is just me but you would think A-Rod would be smart enough to know that without being told, considering all of the media attention on him and that cousin.

However, to imply it is ok to lie or at least to excuse it because he has millions of dollars at stake is excusing the lie all together. To a kid maybe ten's of dollars at stake would be reason to lie. Are you ok with that? Money like most things are relative. A hundred dollars to us might be nothing but to someone else it is a lot of money. A person's reputation is how they will be looked at throughout their life. Yes, A-Rod will be loved and adored by baseball fans and the GM's that employ him as long as he continues to produce and help them win ballgames. But, at the end of the day A-Rod will be judged by his involvement with PED's and how he handled the aftermath. To this point he has achieved a failing grade. American's are a forgiving lot. However, that goes for people who tell the truth from the start and not act like any old story will do and I can make silly excuse's to get past this situation. Again, A-Rod is own own worse enemy.

Arod used steriods. He was hoping he wouldn't get caught. He did. He's a liar and a cheat. Some of you must be Yankee fans because it's blinded you to his lies.

While others must have a personal vendetta against the guy as you won't let the subject die. He's admitted to using roids, lying and cheating. The only way for us as fans and the league itself to heal is for us to move on.

1st of all, please get this through your skull...because it seems like it maybe a problem. I am NOT....REPEAT NOT, saying it is ok to lie. I am saying THAT MAYBE THATS the reason for lying. 2nd, please naming me ONE PLAYER that as admitted to doing something wrong BEFORE they were pinched/outted or turned in in ANY SPORT?!! It is rare if EVER that an athlete does this because WAY TOO MUCH money is at stake as well as their reputation. People have got to stop thinking in everyday man/working stiff terms, people like you and I....when you are talking about millions....they and us think in a whole other level...believe me.

No one is denying he used, no one is denying he cheated and no one is denying he lied. But MLB, the owners AND the players union lied ALSO. So don't get soo hoocked on this Yankees fans this...A-Rod lovers that....trying thinking OUT SIDE this box because has ALOT MORE to do with MLB and less to do with A-Rod.

Please get it through YOUR skull that HE is the reason the story lived on. Again, my only point was he has prolonged the story, nothing more.

The reason why I state what I stated was EVERYONE HERE has more or less stated that a) he cheated and b) he lied and c) he apologized. END OF STORY! But or some reason, because MOST do not continue to castrate him...YOU are the one that refuses to let this story die. The NYC tabloids continue because it is THEIR job.

And again, because some has refused to keep humming "he's a liar, he's a cheat" in chant fashion, you seem to think people are accepting his lying. Not everything is black and white. The black and white portion of the whole problem has beed addressed by him a long time ago: DID YOU CHEAT? YES! DO YOU APOLOGIZE? YES! WILL YOU DO AGAIN? NO!

Done....over...finito...finis... Time to move along people, there is nothing else to see....We ALREADY have drug testing for PEDs.

I used to be in the coin-op games and vending business. I occasionaly did business with someone who claimed to be the unluckiest person in the world. He said he only ran one unlicensed jukebox, but ASCAP found it. He said he only had one cigarette machine with out-of state cigarettes in it, and his state's department of revenue found it. He said he only owned one "bootleg" video game, and the license holder found it. And he only ran one video Draw Poker and the local police found it.

A-rod says the only time he took a banned substance was in the interval immediately before they tested him. This story can never die.

The story can never die because if you look hard enough at anyone....you will ALWAYS find something you don't like....regardless of who the person is.

He admitted to it....apologized for it...now it's time to move on.
