The OTA dongle allows for a separate OTA ATSC 3 dongle to be developed and used. No need for building such into a much more expensive H3.

There really isn't much need for an ATSC 3.0 dongle for the Hopper3. All your major local channels will be carried over satellite.hopefully they will make one. but with all of the DRM issues. who knows...
