Microsoft is typically late with their releases.
They haven't shipped the SDK and without the SDK there aren't any apps. It's now early September and the lack of dates, named carrier partners and hands-on access at the Nokia event are (to me) signs that it is further away than we have been led to believe. Given the lack of an SDK shipping, sometime in Q1 or Q2 is not a pessimistic forecast.
Meanwhile Android and iOS are content with their 85% marketshare.
