Why do things sometimes not record, even when set up to?

It doesn't happen often, but when it does... man is it ever annoying.

My A's win over The Mariners Thursday afternoon was supposed to record on MLB Extra Innings... was looking forward to watching it when I got off work and it wasn't there.

I know it was set up to record, because I've already set up all week's worth of games and the others games this week have recorded fine.

There were no conflicts, as nothing else was set to record at the same time.

This happened periodically during last year's season (maybe a total of 10 times or so.... not a lot but enough to be annoying)

I pay for HD DVR service and Extra Innings... to well be able to record and watch my Oakland A's while living in Joplin, Mo. It tends to piss you off a little when you don't get to watch said games.

Any ideas as to why this might happen?!? Hopefully Friday and Saturday's games record ok....

Possibly ....
Make sure you are setting up your recording at the ACTUAL time the game starts, not before , example, right now at 6:52 am IF I want to record the Tigers game at 1 pm today, even though the game is listed and I could click on Record, I need to go to the actual time (1 pm) and then hit Record.
Not sure if this might be what happened , but this happens every year to people, possibly in a hurry to set something up, maybe not.

Thanks for the reply Jimbo, I'm usually quite careful to set up a game (or anything for the matter) at the right time.

Having said that, I may have not set this one game up at the right time, as I was in a hurry when I set the games up to record.

Possibility that it could have been broadcast on another channel - maybe a exclusive telecast for a local TV station in your area and blacked out/not broadcast by MLB Extra Innings.

Happens to me for some Sabres games - tonights was broadcast on NHL network so it wasn't shown on MSG (638).
