Hi...
I live in US, but i am moving to Ecuador soon. In the city I am moving to (and in many places in Ecuador) they offer DirectTV. In Ecuador it is legal for you to own your own equipment just like it is in the US.
I would like to buy a DVR and dish here in the US and ship it with my stuff to Ecuador. I have done DishNetwork installs in the past, and so I suspect I can do a dish and DVR install. My plan is to install the dish and DVR then call DirectTV in Ecuador and request service.

Can anyone here tell me if the DVRs for DirectTV are the same as the DVRs sold in Ecuador?
I am thinking about buying a DIRECTV HR34 RVU.

Feedback welcome.
Thanks
jack

What satellite do you think are you planning on receiving signals from? the US SAT footprints do not reach that far. You "MIGHT" be able to use the same receivers (I would not count on it as their model is shown as LHR22) but you need to research DIRECTV® Ecuador | Sitio Oficial before you actually buy anything.
