I had 2 dish solution and got moved to EA. I lost ch 217 Ion West. I watch NCIS and Criminal Minds. It's on every day. The WA has 216 & 217 Ion E & Ion W. But the EA has only Ion E. Anyone know if they will be duplicating that on EA?
Will Channel 217 ION W be added to EA

Only Dish knows, but if memory serves, they rolled out the ION W when they began to download maps for local ION stations in the Western US, presumably because of a new contract with ION. Since ION programming is not localized, Dish is able to put up a national feed (or in this case 2-one east and one west) and map it to the ION channel number in your market. It therefore will appear as your local station. Since there are no Western DMAs that I know of on EA, Dish would theoretically have no reason to put the western feed on EA.
You would think the 2 ions would show the same programming..they dont..ion-w has a cartoon channel during the day
I asked about this on a charlie chat one time and was told it's the same programming (which it isn't!) and there were no plans to mirror it on EA.
Does ION-W show qubo during the day? I didn't know that. Qubo is typically a subchannel on ION. In fact I thought all ION stations showed ION (mostly commercials during the day, then movies and shows (NCIS, Boston Legal, Ghost Whisperer and the like) prime time on the main digital channel, Qubo on digital channel 2, and IONLife on digital channel 3. Maybe there are western IONs without Qubo on the second digital subchannel and this is their way of providing it in some markets.
