I want to take advantage of the $200 rebate for the H20. However, I don't have an HD television to hook it up to yet. I'll be getting one soon, but not until April or May. Can I hook up the H20 to a regular non HD television, have it activated by D* and just watch SD broadcasts?

Thanks!

you can actually even watch the HD broadcasts, which wil be downconverted by the receiver to the output you're using (composite or s-video)

they will also be letterboxed

That's nice to know - I was kind of wandering the same thing. Figured I'd cross that road when the HD-DVR upgrade came through. Of course by that time the tax refund will be here! (And I'll be shopping for another HD)

Not sarcasm. Any 480i display will benefit from downconverted quality material vs soft SD material.

I'd be surprised to see much difference between an SD channel and HD channel shown on an SD television. I definitely wouldn't say it would "look amazing". However I have to admit that I've never tried it.
