There was a thread on this last year but when I tried to post, I was informed by the board it was too old. Anyway, has anyone tried this indoor antenna and if so, does it do the job as advertised? If it works, for me, the $75 is worth it. Thanks for any reviews.

Unless you just can't install an outdoor model (some apartment and townhouses) you really should go with a better, more cost effective model. HOA's can't keep you from installing approved devices as laid out by the FCC; the FCC laws supersede local rules. These indoor jobs are mostly hype for their high costs. They are good for close to about 30 miles, and that being said you can get the top rated and FCC recommended Zenith Silver Sensor for around $22 and get better results. What is your zip and lets look at your situation to determine the best result.

Thanks, charper1. My zip is 32751. As per antennaweb.org I am within 30 miles of my towers. I am in a townhome and really don't want to install an outdoor antenna. I really want something to tide me over until Orlando gets the HD locals. I get 6-1 and 9-1 well enough with a RCA ant501 antenna, but don't get 2-1 at all (local NBC). I am looking for something to allow me to get these without having to adjust every time I change channels. I have an HD10-250 D* HD DVR. Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Here is what I get for your zip. At these short distances I would try the Zenith Silver Sensor (#ZHDTV1) from a local retailer or some place you can exchage if you don't like the results; it should work well. If that doesn't do, go for something like the Channel Master CM 3021 or Antennas Direct DB2 or DB4. All under $35!

I'm in Zip 32225 (Jax) and am 10 miles from our tower...all local stations are xmitting their digital signal off of one tower.

I installed a SS-2000 inside my attic and it works great on UHF signals. Unfortunately, it doesn't handle the VHF spectrum well...two of our locals xmit digital on channels 10 and 13. I ended up placing an old rabbit ears next to the SS-2000.

Bottom line, if you have any VHF digital channels in your area, you might want to see how the SS-3000 handles them.

I agree with Charper. Start small and cheap and work your way up, you can always return what don't work. I have a SS-3000 and a Silver Sensor and both work just as well as my SS-2000 except I don't have to adjust the SS-2000 cause its outside on my deck railing (3rd fl apt) and I have good LOS to the DC towers which are all pretty close together. I'm using the SS-3000 for the Balt towers which I don't have good LOS, and they are a little more spread out than the DC towers so a little adjusting is nessesary. Listen to Charper on your choices. Hes a good source.---Ray
