My setup... one 722k HD DVR (dual) and one 222k HD (dual)

Turbo HD Bronze....29.99
Add Locals.............. 5.00
Add DVR................. 5.00
HD Receiver Lease. 7.00
-------------------------------
TOTAL 46.99 Services 2 HDTVs and 2 SDTVs

Versus....

Classic Bronze 100....34.99
Bronze HD.................10.00
Add Locals................. 5.00
Add DVR................... 5.00
HD Reciever Lease.... 7.00
----------------------------------
TOTAL 61.99 Service 2 HDTVs and 2 SDTVs

So basically $15 additional a month, just so I'd get:

Nick HD - ok, I miss not having this one.
MTV HD - I never watch this
VH1 HD - I never watch this
FOX News HD - I can live without
Headline News Network HD - I can live without

It is SO not worth it. I'd be much better off, upgrading to Turbo HD Silver for $10, where I'd get:

Big Ten Network HD - I'd probably watch football in the fall
Bravo HD - I might watch movies
CBS College Sports HD - Don't know what this is
Disney XD HD - Kids would probably like it
Lifetime Movie Network HD - Wife would probably like it
NFL Network HD - I'd like this one
WGN America HD - Don't know what it is.

I thought if one has two HDDVRs and the Classic pack one can do something called DVR advantage deal to avoid the second DVR fee.

Other than that I agree with you 100%, if you do not care for most of the new HDs, the Turbo packs are still the best value.

If the channels are not worth it for you ... duh! :p

TurboHD Bronze is really an attractive package considering its price. If they added all of the channels it is "supposed" to get ... it would rock! :up

Same here, I would like to have Nick but not worth the $15 increase (don't really care about the other channels). I'm just keeping my ol Dish NOW reciever for those days when I want to watch Nick, in SD mind you but better than nothing. I rather pay 43 cents for the days I want than fork out $15/month just for Nick HD.

I've always felt like the Classic 200 Silver + SilverHD addon was the best value for the channels provided.

I currently have classic 250 gold and am giving my family the month to decide if it is worth the extra $10 a month or if they would rather have premium channel.

Boomerang and Encore HD are the only channels we really use in the package.

nick & discovery are important in my house. not to mention toon and disney. if the HD was what it is supposed to be, i would go that route. i'm gonna stay put and see what happens.

still waiting for a response about what makes DVR advantage so much better (other therad).

OP,

You ignore the fact that the additional cost also gets you the SD channels that come in the Bronze package. Looking at it from an HD perspective only ignores the different nature of the Classic packages.
