WUMN, Channel 13 (LP) in Minneapolis, recently switched from MTV2 to Univison. Guess they are going to be doing a newscast too (if you don't know yet...WUMN is on Galaxy 10 11799 V 26660)

from www.northpine.com/broadcast
The Star Tribune reports that WUMN-CA/13 (Minneapolis), which started carrying Univision last month, will soon air local spanish-language newscasts at 5 and 10 p.m. weekdays. The newscasts will actually originate at the Independent News Network in Davenport, using news gathered by reporters and photojournalists in the Twin Cities. The station and INN are owned by Equity Broadcasting

This is great news for the local Spanish speaking population here in the Twin Cities, thanks for keeping us up to date Berg!

Well, that is their spot on the dial :)
SInce Equity bought it, they cranked up power (from 110 watts to 1200 watts). I can actually see a clear picture now :)

looks like an Equity channel getting major exposure in Minneapolis

Time Warner Cable, Minnesota to Partner with WUMN TV to Provide Univision

Local and Regional Content Anticipated

MINNEAPOLIS (April 11, 2005) -- Under terms of an agreement with Univision, America's premiere Spanish-language network, Time Warner Cable will change the source of its feed from satellite to low-power broadcaster WUMN-TV13, the new local Univision affiliate. Viewers will find the same Univision programming but with the WUMN station identification and enhanced with local content... news, public affairs, entertainment programming... in the near future. Univision/WUMN will continue on Time Warner Cable in its same position, channel 47. The switchover is planned for April 12, 2005.

WUMN TV has begun carrying a new regional Univision feed with enhanced local insertion capabilities. The station expects to program locally-inserted Spanish-language newscasts at 5 and 10 p.m. as well as local advertising.
