used database back up. ended up with 1 file with .ssu on it. is that it ?
thanks

database is for channel list backup with transponders.. will be about 449.kb

application will be the firmware backup and it will be about 3585kb

so how to get firmware backup on a usb stick ?
thanks

Menu ---> Setup ---> Upgrade and backup --> Upgrade by USB

Make sure it says Application 1 ---> Scroll down below where it says USB0(ROOT)
Then scroll to the right ---> select your backup ----> press OK on remote
then it prompts "Are you sure to upgrade this file?" ---> click OK on remote
Wait til it reboots.

Once you are back on, check firmware for proper upgrade.

setup ---> system information.

Here is the X2 to USB

Setup ---> upgrade and backup

Scroll down to Backup to USB

make sure you select Application 1 to backup firmware. (user database for channel list and transponders list)

Scroll down to USB0(ROOT)

Move to the right and click on Add New Files.

Name your backup and save it.

click on the saved backup and it will prompt "Are you sure you want to backup to this file?"

click OK

Done.

Thanks to pro96 for sharing:up , I loaded and tested April 9. Looks good so far. Still the sat list is all scrambled. This is a USA sat list from 45W to 139W which is going to be included into all X2 USA future releases. You can load the April 9 and them this USA sat list and everything should work great,

yup just make sure its at least 3mb and like XTGOLD said, you can also do a full dump which will be about 8mb. I've done both when my (2) x2 where purchased right before I upgraded any fw.

When this is done, does it copies everything into the USB stick, such as the Hardware version, Software version, Date of the update was made, etc, or just a portion.

My receiver should be arriving this coming Monday, and I want to be a little bit informed of what to do.

Thanks.

There is an issue with our SatelliteGuys Downloads Software which we are actively working on. We hope to have downloads (and uploads) restored as soon as possible! Thanks for your understanding!
