Youtube in HRxx's?

I remember reading somewhere that the new software update on the HR2x's are to include Youtube, but I have yet to see any APPS or anything in the menu containing Youtube. Is this rumor true?

Yeah. It wont show until the rollout is done, and I think it takes a few days to show up.

You have to do a search, but I forgot exactly what the search terms were.

I know it was in a CE for awhile, but I though it was going public now. Do you still have to activate it?

I already received the latest firmware update on both of my boxes.

I don't know if it's open to non CE'ers yet or not.

Nevermind, when its active, and you use smart search, it'll show up as a youtube hit. Just try searching for a well known youtube video in smart search and see if it pops up.

Here is a good description of how it works, and when:

When you do a search you will see "YouTube" to the right of the search results where you would normally see "Movie" or "Person" or "Keyword".

Also, per the release notes:

YouTube Videos will not be available until ALL HR20/21/22/23 & R22 systems have received the new software.

do a keyword search for "UTUB3ON".... worked for me, and now I can search Youtube videos on my box. Heck with waiting for Direct to turn on the feature.

Having not seen it in operation yet, I was hoping that they would use a TV App for YouTube instead of cluttering up Smart Search.

Now the question I have to check out is do does this work on stock firmware just by searching forthat or do I have to enable Edge Cutter search code first and then the UTUB3ON I have to play with one of my stock boxes later after work.

I did not think you had to enable it on the Nat Release SW.

However, a few weeks ago I did.
