Hi all,

We just bought a new slimline dish (new style with the new, more square-style lnb) to get directv to our cabin in the woods. We attached it to an old tree stump and adjusted to all the right specs for our zip code. We can get 93% signal so far for 101 and near 100% for all the others (85-90% for 101ca). However, we're getting zero signal from the 99.

We're getting signal over a set of trees and it's possible that the location might have a signal problem due to that. Is it likely that we would get a zero signal from the 99 due to the location of the satellite or are we experiencing other problems? I would think with the 101 getting good signal it's possible - however, is the 99 really that far from the 101 in the sky?

Basically, I want to rule out all possible issues before moving the dish to another spot.

We checked with directv and the setup section for the receiver appears to be right.

Thanks for any help!

Do you get the 103? You should be getting atleast the 99, 101 and 103 with the SL3. If you have the SL5 then you should get 99, 101, 103, 110 and 119.

Do you have you BBC's installed, unless you have an H/HR23 receiver those have the BBC built in.
