I'm 47 and still use my Turbografx 16 and my Sega Master System.

I need to find a replacement Atari 2600 for the one that went kaput on me.

I used to play the Sega Master System in my teens way better than the original NES imo.

I hope you realize that "10's of thousands" is a fairly small percentage out of the what, 14 Million subs?

If 50 thousand out of 14 million ask, that is only about 3.5% of the subscriber base.

Actually, 50 thousand out of 14 million would be one third of one percent (0.3%) or 1 in 300 approximately.

Still, even out of 14 million, a sample size of just over 1,000 would yield a margin of error of less than 3% with a confidence level of 95%.

Except it's not a random sample. These accounts are self-selected because they're related to people that contacted CS for some reason or another (assuming he didn't randomly access accounts without a legitimate business reason). Therefore they're not necessarily representative of the larger total population. I would suggest that I would expect this subset to be more likely to have credits because they have reached out to Dish for one reason or another and are thus more likely to have received credits than the average sub that never calls in.

Anything over $2/month increase is WAY too much!!! They had a horrible large increase last year and regardless of what other providers charge Dish needs to look at the economy as still fragile and cord cutting/satellite signal blocking or whatever you wish to call it is happening more and more cause of high fee's.

Not to mention that the Dish employees might want a raise.... ;)

Dish doesn't give raises... they figure out ways to take it from you. "Oh you got a bad survey from the wife that wasn't home at the time of the install" You just got deducted $1 from every job you do for next 90days...sorry! lolz raise.... you crack me up!

Is the economy really that fragile yet? Isn't the stock market at a high? Isn't the unemployment rate really low now? Businesses are actually struggling to fill positions now because there aren't enough people looking for jobs. I'm not so sure what's so fragile.

Maybe in your area businesses are having that problem but the unemployment rate is still high nation wide, the numbers are skewed from those that gave up looking which are not counted. Yes still very fragile.. wait till this oil bubble busts.

All I know is that in my area there are tons of jobs available and not enough people willing to work them. There are "Hiring" signs up everywhere you go. I know it's not like this everywhere but it certainly seems like things aren't as bad as some people say.

The economy is extremely fragile, the stock market has been down many times this year.As for unemployment, those numbers are skewed, there are many that simply gave up on a job,so they no longer count agaisnt the unemployment rate. Many folks that have jobs are underpaid, and barely scraping by.

So yea,Providers need to be very careful with their increases.

When I worked for dish, me and most my colleagues got raises on a regular basis. Typically got 2-3 2% upto 5% raises atleast 2 times a year
