HD DVD #1 and #2 selling DVD players at Amazon

Yepp, Im missing the point.

I thought the whole movement was about enjoying movies in HD? Main reason why I ended up buying both. Now that there is a light at the end of the tunnel in this whole mess, the guys that stuck to the losing side are stomping off into the dvd sunset.

Does not make much sense to me, but hey, you guys enjoy that HD sat programming, those few HDDVD movies you can get, and Ill enjoy my BD player.

Yes, you are. My post was about sportsmanship, or lack thereof.

Never thought I'd see the day when elwaylite didn't have a cute little comeback. Didn't mean to shoot down the BD30 so thoroughly but I must state the facts. I was looking forward to a little competitive banter. Guess I left you no where to go.

Bah, sportmanship.

No such thing in business.

Its not worth arguing about, BD is not going to miss you guys and your vhs tapes, neither will I.

All of us are a minority right now, and these issues we argue about really dont matter to the general public.

Dude, I am not talking about business, I am talking about the community we call SatelliteGuys. THere is a BIG difference, and I am not pleased with the attitudes and behavior I am seeing out of the blu-boy crowd here in the past two weeks. That was the entire point of my post.

We don't spend hundreds of hours here just to find out information; its because of the sense of community.

I totally agree with rocky's stance... I was going to buy a PS3... but after seeing the glee and piss poor sportsmanship which the BD folk's here and at other forums are showing... I personally would rather watch those movies on SLP - VHS or broadcast TV than BD... nothing against the format, it's the people that are supporting it... and degrading the other STILL alive format...thats just the way I was raised...

I've noticed this since CES, the behavior of those on Sony's side (get ready for them to say Sony is not behind Blue-Ray) seem to be very kindergardnerish. AVS is flooded with them and play games every day. Its even on the Amazon boards.

I'm not saying we should shut them up, actually let them spew the crap even more, and let it backfire.

I can't beLIEve I even agree with Vubrano on this!:D

I will agree, there is some bad behavior coming out of the Blu side, but there is just as much if not more being thrown out from the red corner, and it hasnt been just the past two weeks.

My whole issue with this has been the fact it is the same 3 or 4 posting serveral articles that link to the original article as there source. But each time they are posting as if its more confirming news.

I, too, have been amazed with the attitude that, since I bought HD-DVD first, that I had some sort of character flaw and it HAS kept me from me from buying a BR stand alone. I'm not sure I want to be a part of that particular community. A bit obnoxious for me. It wasn't enough to win the "war", but everyone on the other side had to die.

My son's PS3 is just fine for now, and I don't feel like feeding Sony anymore right now.

Both sides have people that act like children. I'm firmly in the red. However, I would be blind or just a complete liar if I claimed that it was only those on the Blu side that posted personal attacks, etc.

Format attacks are fine. Blu-Ray still sucks! :p However, the rest is a bit silly. I would invite all the Blu-Ray supporters over to my place to watch Pride and Prejudice or Casablanca on HD DVD any day of the week.

I'd buy a Blue-Ray player today if it were 149.99 and version 2.0.

Wow, slaming the Panny BD30 that passes 7.1 DolbyTrueHD and DTSMaster HD thru HDMI to a receiver that can decode the codec. Something NO HD_DVD player can do:

HD DVD Product Information and News : Toshiba

The top of the line A35 can only pass the core of DTS HD and not the DTSMaster HD codec at all.

You HD-DVD fanbots really know how to pick your poision don't you. Now if the Panny BD 30 cannot be upgraded to 1.1 then that is something you should jump on but to meantion how it handles the audio codecs when the top of the line A35 can't even get close is a joke!

F*ck the Facts Feast continues...
the HD-A35 adds support for bit stream output of the new high-resolution soundtrack formats, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Bit stream output of these soundtracks means that the encoded audio can be sent to a compatible AV receiver with onboard Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding. This might be a worthwhile upgrade for audiophiles with new AV receivers, who want to hear the full resolution of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks.

Or did I take your quote out of context again? I'm really sorry if that's the case...

Diogen.

Like Diogen says, the A35 and the XA2 both pass DTS Master just fine. I have both. Core only refers to internal decoding, which is all bd players at this time. Only a few of the more expensive BD players are going to offer internal DTS Master support (Panasonic BD50, Pioneer 05FD, Sony Saphire5-no bitstreaming, Denon3800, and Marantz 8002).
