I wonder if this is just for Owned and Operated Area's or is anyone blacked out?

I am not in an owned and operated area for FOX and channel 701 is coming in for me.

Edit: I did not sub to Sunday Ticket this year.

i'm getting 701 in hd. i get my local fox channel in hd and yes it is owned and operated by fox. sorry, i inadvertantly checked the wrong box in the poll. i also had sunday ticket with super fan. nothing but a directv logo on 700.

bob can you change? i'm should have voted number 2....getting 701, had st and live in o&o.

This is sweet, I guess were getting the NYW feed, I hope they don't shut it down, nice Directv :up

I don't think that WZTV Fox 17 out of Nashville is O&O, I'm pretty sure its owned by Sinclair broadcasting, because I remember them having contract issues with Comcast Cable and telling their viewers to switch to Directv.

(I think they are a horrible Fox affiliate, but I guess thats Sinclair for you)

ARGH, I just saw Travotla's hair piece in HD; MY EYES!

Hehe, but football looks so sweet in HD... I coulden't go back to SD thats for sure.

Also, are some getting this because their local Fox affiliate is not HD, and are some also getting this because they subbed to sunday ticket(including me)?

I don't think that any of this makes a difference. My local FOX is broadcast in HD (carried on Directv) and I did not subscribe to Sunday Ticket.

I don't think it matters either; we are installed in two locations:

Location #1 has NO HD LiL at all and subs to ST/SF and 701 is open.

Location #2 has HD LiL and no ST/SF and has 701 open.

Buddy with HD LiL and ST/SF also has 701 open.

5pm will tell whats up. Normally I too would think affiliates would be pissed about this type of situation, BUT I do not think there will be much, if any, local advertising during the SB, so they should just keep quiet; as they should anyway!

What is your zip code?

DirecTV really doesn't grant or deny DNS; the can only turn on users based on their zip code and the predicted signal strength of reception on the analog signal - the local affiliate that claims you not granting waiver is a good part of your problem I am guessing.

If you dispute the signal strength, and your waiver was denied, you can request a signal strength test. If you are shown to be correct, you should receive your waiver approval; if you are shown wrong, the you will not AND you will pay for the testing.

This is the previous method; I do not think it has changed.

I'm in the process now. Got ABC so far. I'm 31 days into the appeal process. 14 more business days and I'll be calling for that signal test. No way in hell they can get one here so I should get them ok.

No 701 for me. I'm not a ST subscriber. I'm not in an O&O area.
But I do have the HD-DNS Fox (West).
I figured if you had HD-DNS you would get 701, but I guess not.
Not that it matters since I'm getting it on 89 and 399 (in HD).
