I was out in the snow tuning the 10 footer. Now that I had time and was not in a hurry trying to get ready for work, I discovered my focal point was off pretty bad.

Using sbs-6 (ONN) I was getting 50 percent quality now it is 100% on the pansat 9200.

had to skew the bsc-621 a little.

It could use more precise tuning but i am happy with it for now.

Only dedicated satellite guys go out in the snow and tune. :) I was out in the snow a couple weeks ago changing satellites on my 90 cm Primestar. I had my 5" tv in a bucket sitting in the snow :)

I was out today scanning the C-Band satellites to see what new stuff is there :)
since I have to wheel my dish out and ghetto move it I have to be outside. Balmy 12 today with wind chill of 3 above

Got a simple system...set TV & Receiver on tailgate of truck. Get dish tuned in on satellite then hand shut the garage door and blind scan. The garage being shut keeps some warmth in. When its time to move dish hand open dish, move dish and repeat :)

yes I know...we're nuts :D

Haha.. I thought this was gonna turn into a 'You know you're a redneck if ...."

nah. I have a LOS issue. The deck is on the north side of the house and being so far north (45N) I had the 6 foot dish on a 30" high table and culd get from G11 over to AnikF1 (91-107). Had another dish that I wheel out in front of my garage (on the south side) to get most the other C-band stuff :)

Hey Ice,
I bet you are the world's fast dish tuner with all that practice. You could probably smoke me in a "dish tuning race" LOL.

I have already been called a redneck since i have two "west virginia wildflowers" growing in my yard. If I had a HOA I would be public enemy number one! Two c-band dishes in the back yard.

I guess I am a hardcore satellite guy since weather or rain does not stop me from tuning.
I have a storage building out back at the end of my deck that is finished inside with HVAC where I keep my tools and stuff. I have an automatic video switcher with a built in modulator where I run a "channel 4" coax out to the building that has a coax jack in a surface mount Junction box on the outside back wall beside a ground fault outlet.

My 10 footer is about 10 feet away from that building so I have a wicker type outdoor table that I sit a small 13" color tv on and use for tuning.

I use a remote control extender that sends my remote commands into the house wirelessly and I can move the dish and switch tp's and sats with the pansat 9200 remote.

It works pretty well. Now if i tune the 7.5' dish, I have to drag a tv and receiver out to the far back of the property with a long extension cord. The 7.5' feeds the spare bedroom with a fortec ultra, v-box 4, dsr-905 sidecar to a 26" olevia HD tv with samsung OTA digital tuner from the stacked UHF antennas.

Inside my walls looks like NASA-LOL

it's all fun.
