That is because SATGUYS is the place to go to for late breaking information on Satellite tv. Besides you can 't criticize DISH for anything on the other site with James Long patrolling.;)

Someone needs to tell James Long, that this is a democratic country, and nobody wants the KGB here.:D

I would think that the sci fi and usa channels will be available in the top 100 with dish hd essentials, ultimate hd pack and the stand alone hd pack. There are sd equivalents of these channels so they should be easy to map down in hd too.

That's exactly what I was stressing all this time. If Eastern Arc goes live, could I use a DP Dual on a D500 with an I-adapter, connected to my D1000.2 without confusing my 622 and 722 what to do with it? I don't wanna buy an DPP44 just for that, if I want to remove my D1000.2.

According to Randal in another thread , he explained that a normal splitter , would do the job of splitting one coax into two with a single line from a 61.5 sat dish. So if you have two lines leading to your house from the 61.5 sat dish and you have two dual tuner dvrs , you could easily put a cheap sat splitter that you can find here to do the job. One on each single coax leading to your dual tuner dvrs will do the job like the dish pro seperator does now .

Not a cable splitter. It has to be a power passing high frequency splitter. Rated 5-2200 Mhz. Cable companies splitters are rated to 1000 Mhz.

I will get one tomorrow at Frys to test it with the 622 receiver and 61.5.

Wow, what a great show this was tonight, the first Charlie Chat that really got me excited. Being a huge movie fan, I was sooo happy with MGM, MOREMAX, HBO2, INDEPENDENT FILM CHANNEL and AMC (which I never knew was going HD-wish TCM would do it too). Also happy to hear about the locals. Unfortunately Duluth, Minnesota was not in the first phase coming, but it was in the last set of "dots." Just hope it is in time for the new TV season this September.

I think tonight was important....they really needed to get us psyched after being so quiet for so long.

That HD list is actually pretty darn good. The only two that need to be added are FX and Comedy Central. Now hopefully they can get a bunch of them up quickly so we don't have to wait til May for the new sat to be operational. Only 16 of the 25 are up on any provider yet so giving us a few of those soon would be good. I mean if they can mention them like that then the negotiations should be done right?

I had read here on another thread that they already uplinked MGMhd (possibly), does anyone know how long it takes after an uplink to actually provide the channel to customers? Sorry, I am not that Sat. tech saavy.

Well after reading this thread with a little optimism I went and watched the Charlie Chat and correct me if I'm wrong.

1. As far as more bandwidth he claims it will be on the new bird going up, but that's 2-3 months off minimum.

2. When they showed al the channels to be added, Charlie said "I don't think we will have all these channels?"

3. When the caller asked about current bandwidth Charlie admits there is bandwidth for ScifiHD and USAHD but then rattled off about about 5 reasons:

a. Fair Contract (mentions this about 10 times during the 1 hour broadcast)
b: Must get uplink center ready
c: Software has to be loaded to set top box?
etc etc.

I have never heard so much double talk in my life. Was a valid reason given as to why ScifiHD or USAHD or any other channels have not been recently added?

Did you hear Charlie mumble that he didn't think ALL these channels would be added? What about multiple HBO/SHOWTIME/STARZ Feed in HD as D* has? As for time frame, if they were adding anything soon they would have mentioned it. This is more fluff to stop the bleeding.

It's unfortunate, but I have to agree. Just fluff at this point. Why even bother mentioning channels that will, most likely, never see the light of day on Dish?

I thought that I heard the comment "By next Charlie Chat" the addition of some HD channels...possible Sci-Fi...?
