NESN HD Uplinked!!!

The PQ was excellent tonight.

I noticed there was no 5.1 for the B's game. Maybe only Sox games at Fenway?? I remember a game early last year when Orsillo was boasting about the 5.1 surround and showing some of the mic placements...

I was thinking the same thing. No 5.1 sound?? I wonder if the game was in 5.1 on another provider.

I noticed they cut the feed when Jack and Brick signed off at 9:32. This was the exact second that the broadcast was over. So it looks like we shouldn't have any problems with overtime and runover. There must be an electron signal to dish or they have someone sitting there waiting to flip the switch because it was too perfect.

As of earlier this morning, did anyone notice that the Sox-A's game Tuesday night at 10pm isn't listing yet on NESN HD in the program guide? SNY HD is listing the Mets games already for next week, but not the same with NESN HD. Please don't tell me that DISH isn't showing ALL Sox games in HD....

Also, I hope they block a solid 4 hours for Sox games in HD, because several games go more than 3.5 hours....I can just see Papi up in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded, and the HD feed gets cut....

on the guide saturday's game on NESN HD shows up as starting a half hour later, hope they get it fixed

There is also the Sox exhibition game vs. the Dodgers from the LA coliseum that is airing on NESN-HD after the Bruins game Saturday.

I really hope this goes good, I would like to get back down to one satellite provider.

W/R to whether the HD feed will be cut off early

I was watching the Bruin's game last night. As soon as the closing credits were done the HD feed cut off. I assume there is some form of signal that indicates the end of the SPORTS broadcast. So I assume games will be shown in their entirety regardless of what the EPG says, just like they would on the regular NESN.

Yep the only problem may be if the game goes over and we've DVR'd it. Course that's probably a problem on the SD feed too. When in doubt, pad it. :)

I believe all sports timers are automatically padded with 1 hour by default. I was out last night and recorded the Bruins game which was listed in the guide from 1900 to 2130. At 2205 the timer was still recording and I didn't add any time to it.

Of course, it wouldn't hurt to add more time, especially for the Sox/Yankees games that always seem to go over 4 hours....

On NESN.com they don't show the Sox/Dodgers exhibition game as being HD

So the NESN HD Feed of the Bruins game today was scheduled 30 minutes off. They must of just realized the error and flipped the switch on at about 1:15PM to the HD feed but no audio...I am grateful to be able to watch the game in HD but is really that tough to get right??

Same here. No audio. WTF

Dish Online chat: (05-03) Kathy B: That is a new channel and we must be having issues with it I will send a report to our engineers to let them know. Just a minute please
Lets hope they fix it soon.

We're cool now. Good thing too- I flipped over to the SD feed just to see if it had audio. HOLY COW does that channel look like ass! I'd rather watch the HD channel even if there was no sound.
