How many made it for thier name, not their performance, all players that is, not just Yankees. and who didn't make it that should have.
Injuries kept a few Tigers out as well as other players as well.

Hard to believe the N.L. hasn't won a Midsummer Classic since 1996.
Let me explain it in terms you can understand:

That said, I think the True Justin Verlander is back on the mound and will have a great 2nd half.

Very nice ceremony with the HOF'ers and present players.
Only problem I have with the deal is :
IS Willie Mays the ONLY CF'er deserving to be in the HOF ?
Why are there no others there with him ?

This season will be remembered as the exception, for the best young arm in the American League. He will win a couple of Cy Young awards, just not this season.
I checked for HOF centerfielders, and most of them have passed away.
Among them, Mays is the only one who's still alive.
Really ..... I hadn't considered that .

Kirby Puckett was the only other possibility. If he was still alive, he'd have been with the other HOF members.
Many of them (Ty Cobb, Earle Combs, Hack Wilson, Edd Roush, etc.) have been deceased for many decades.
I bet once again Tigers Carlos Guillen will be a pinch hitter, maybe, seeing the Yankees have SS and 3B tied up, then again, maybe he won't get in at all.
I hate it when good players don't get to play.
