VOOM Goes BOOM - update Dish Drops all 15 VOOM Channels

Directv has made fun of the voom channels in the past.

Since Dish still owns 20% of Voom could they stop the sale.
True, but think about political candidates who tear apart their opponent's positions, and often hours/days later they adopt the same position themselves.

I would love to have NFL and Voom, but maybe we will get lucky and it will scare Dish into making a deal. I mean what will Dish have to offer then that DirecTV doesnt.

After adding up all the nickel and dime charges, just a higher bill and less programming and sports! Heck, if I were with E*, I would have to fork-over $ for multisports package to watch the Big Ten Network just because I do not live in a "Big Ten" state. Both DirecTV and FiOS TV consider BTN to be national sports channel, so why is E* the only one labeling it a RSN? Oh, that's right...to save the customers money.

Dish may be in trouble if they don't whack the $10 HD Gold and $10 HD Premium fees, get rid of multiple DVR fees, and do something to differentiate their service from the competition.

Um...if D* thought there was an advantage to be gained by adding these channels, then they're making fun of them in the past would quickly be forgotten.

Exactly. If there's a buck in it for them, d* — or e* or any other corporation that lives and dies by the "we have to do what gets the very last penny for the shareholder no matter what the consequences" attitude — would change its viewpoint.

I guarantee if Directv picks up Voom they will see a nice spike in people comming over, I would definately be one of them.

Yeah, that would be a good start. I'm not sure what E* can do at this point. D* is just going to get better with new sats and hd additions. E* is way to sloooow to add hd. They have the space but wait, wait, and wait. Plus how many of us are waiting until Voom/ if Voom gets added elsewhere. People laugh and say those #s don't mean much. Well, those #s add up as was the case in the last earnings report.

Dude you have no life worrying about what other people write, I am sorry that I made a mistake in what I wrote. And I am no arm chair CEO I am just stating that it would definately be nice for Voom to come back because I am one of the people that will follow it. I think you definately have an attitude problem and hope you grow up one day.

"Like most opportunities in our space, if Rainbow is put on the market, we will look," Maffei told the newspaper.

This is the only real quote from the whole article. I wouldn't count on anything from that. A reporter probably caught the guy on the street and said " I heard Rainbow media may be up for sale, are you going to buy them?" and he gave them a canned response.

If the media makes it sound more than it is and that maybe scares Dish into making a deal I am all for it lol.

If D* does get Voom I'm giving you all the credit. I would then assume they looked at the poll you created.:)
