New XM Lineup

Last song on Chrome was Last Dance.

After it ended, we heard some heavy metal for a few seconds on DirecTV then the screen changed to say that XM has removed the channel.

So long chrome. You had some great personality in your last night.

They dropped Buzzsaw and Hard Attack??????I will be cancelling my subscription before the end of the day.

all I have to say is, thank goodness they kept bpm. I am addicted to that dance channel, and DJ armando every afternoon at 2pm and 5pm (pacific).

I will definitely miss ted kelly's world party in the morning's on Upop, but that's been on so little lately I've kind of already moved on, and I was already prepping for them to take upop away for the darn holiday channels, anyway. I'll reserve judgement on upop until I hear BBC radio 1.

I'll miss ethel, but I'll probably find replacements for the most part.

it looks like we're getting a ska/punk channel back on XM, I hope they do a specific ska show like fungus did, it was too hard to find ska on the station otherwise.

also, big thumbs down to XM for the late notice, I had no idea until I logged in just now, and it's already been changed for 4 hours

It also appears that SuperShuffle (online) is now gone. I was in the Sirius online player and picked it apparently just as the channel update hit, and it went away.

I was annoyed when it went online only, and now it's gone. :(

What happened to Cinemagic? Why was that channel taken off the air until Jan 1? That channel was one of the main reasons I got XM in the first place.

I gotten have my fix of movie soundtracks.

I believe they are playing Holiday music on it until the first.

I wouldn't count on it. I've been flipping around for a while and every time I go past Faction, it just sounds like Squizz to me. (Ahh...and here's a DJ. I hate this already.)

I didn't listen to Fungus that much, but it always sounded fun when you flipped it on. Faction is just "singers that are mad at their dad" so far.

I was afraid Lithium would just be Grunge (as the awful name implies), but I've heard some variety so that's good. But I haven't heard any 80's stuff, and that was the whole point of Lucy. When Fred got too obscure for too many songs in a row, you could flip to Lucy. Now, it seems like Lucy's playlist is split between Lithium and 1st Wave. And Fred's playlist has probably already been purged from the system.

Faction was just playing Rancid...first sign of any "punk"...then the DJ said Metallica was coming up, played a bunch of stupid sound effects, and threw on some stoner rap. Did I mention how much Sirius sucks? I want to punch Mel Karmizan in the face right now.

Chill seems to have switched to the Sirius version, which is good for me, but will undoubtedly piss off people who actually like chill (ambient) music. Oh, and their pad data doesn't work...no song titles.

Oh jeez...there's a DJ on Alt Nation. Oh great, he hit the post. I want to strangle him. Play the song, idiot.

1st Wave is playing Just What I Needed. Wow, that brings back memories...of last weekend when I was listening to 1st Wave. Oh here's Pretty In Pink. Real original. I would be totally cool with 1st Wave as an alternative to Fred (like Lucy was), but don't just KILL a fairly original format. Go ahead, change the name, even throw in your damn DJs, but don't flush a whole massive playlist down the drain.

The whole reason I got XM was to hear different things. I could listen to 1st Wave for an hour and never hear a song I didn't already have in my record collection. Sure, I like those songs, but what's the point? Convienience, I guess.

Oh, and what's the deal with NPR "Now". I was excited because I thought it might actually have what's on NPR now. Which would be Morning Edition, with the news updates and everything. Nope...it's Artie Lange on Fresh Air. (Apparently Howie even gets a say about what's on the NPR channel.)

At least XMU seems to be intact. Oh well, I'll find things I like and get used to the things that annoy me. I can't help thinking they are going to see a bunch of churn. There's a ton of people who subscribe just for ONE channel. Take that channel away , or replace it with something inferior, and they're going to leave. And what about the people who subscribe to both services just to get one channel on each? They'll be happy maybe, but you just cut their spending in half. How is that a smart business move, Mel?

Maybe I'm just looking for a reason to cancel my subscription, but Octane and Classic Vinyl sound off. I can tell the overall sound quality (highs) is off from what I was used to on the old Top Tracks and Squizz.

Anyone else able to hear a difference?

For Your Convenience, the new printable Sirius Lineup:

My big beef is that we lost Backspin. I'm not a big rap fan, but I really like old school stuff. First they took away "Wax," which was SUCH a good station because it had tons of freestyles and b-sides and DJ run shows. Hell DJ Premier used to have his own show and it was GREAT. So they got rid of that, but at least they still had Backspin. Now THAT is gone as well. I love how they said on the website,

"If you liked Backspin, Check out Hip Hop Nation (which is HORRIBLE) and listen to a 'Daily old skool rap show.' How about a Daily Old Skool Rap STATION?? BOO!!!

That being said, I am liking listening to O&A and R&F. Also I'm super psyched that we're getting Cinemagic. I'm also glad that finally we get a pure 90's station, and not one that's "The 90's AND today." I just like Yesterday!

Looks like I'm one of the few people overall who are happy with the merger and the combination of content. Go figure.

How come siriusxmstars xm ch.155 and sirius 102 have diffrent programing on.
And also what happend to Jay Thomas i think they moved him to sirius ch. 108 but that is or was Maxum radio and that looks like that is gone also.
Thanks alot siriusxm for the early heads up.

Last song on Chrome was Last Dance.

Sounds like my wedding. But in my case the fun was just beginning, not coming to an end. If I was a Disco fan I would be very angry that I no longer have a Disco option on XM/Sirius.

It is bad enough I lost System, but I am delighted somewhat that it is still available online and as of right now still on DirecTV.

This is going to make me sound gay, but I don't care.

I am disappointed with the changes to the classical lineup. I always listened to either XM Pops, or XM Classics for a couple of hours in the morning at work. They both played traditional classical Music such as Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, etc... you know the stuff that sometimes has a harpsichord.

Today, I turn it on, and both channels sound like the old XM Vox, which I see is now gone. Its new age classical which will have a guitar, and percussion kit in there. Its almost like the soothing music you buy on CD near a greeting card section at a big box retail store.

Other than that, the channels I used to listen to stayed, or improved. They brought the Sirius Sinatra channel, and retained the 40's and Real Jazz channel.
