Dish Terminates More Retailers

The retailer can say NO! and its not against the law to look for a free upgrade.

You are absolutely correct. And most do say NO.
As for the upgrade part it is breaking a contract when the customer cancels his original account and opens up a new one just so they can get new hardware and programming.

This is a big problem in the international community.

There have been many times when I was sitting in a retailers office and watched a customer walk in demanding the new promotion, even though they were still under contract.

Again, the sad part is I have also been sitting in the retailers office when the customer comes back just to tell the retailer that Dish is coming out to give them everything they wanted under a new account.

What you as the end user don't understand is that now takes revenue away from the original selling retailer that invested HIS advertising dollars to bring that customer to Dish.

If Dish would just fix their system so that customer manipulation can never occur this will take care of everything. I know that some of these retailers that Dish is announcing do deserve what they are getting, but I also know there a few that don't and Dish is ruining many lives out there right now.
Things you as customers don't and can't see.

I agree that its retailers and E* at fault. The customer comes to both E* or the retailer, If this is aloud by one or both ,Thats again no ones fault but E* and the retailers.

Quality control came to my house said I needed a re-wire. He hints towards moving it to my wife's name so as not have to pay. I retailer comes a few days later, knows nothing about a rewire but calls his office and proceeds to "move" me so it would be free. I was willing to do it right and pay a reasonable fee since the original install wasn't good I was willing to pay half the normal charge. The installer said he figured he might lose his job because he does so many "moves". Hate to see anyone lose their job doing me a favor.

[ My guess retailer get the receivers from E* for free ,and sell them to the customers for s profit. Thats theft.[/QUOTE]

You couldn't be further from the truth here. Retailers have thousands of dollars invested in every customer from hardware, installation, sale commissions, and marketing. They are also liable for this investment. So every time a customer disconnects his service while under contract the retailer takes a huge hit which comes right out of his commission payment. It will take at least 2-3 new sales to recoup this loss.

But who cares right. As long as I get my new promo.

Get your facts correct before you start spewing BS like this. You have NO idea what these retailers have to go through to provide you with service.

I'm sorry but I'm starting to get a little pissed here. It's this new generation of GIMME GIMME GIMME that's bringing all of us down and until you walk a mile in a Dish retailers shoes I suggest you just sit back, enjoy your programming and just say thank you.

So thats your defence while your in the court room. The Customer made me do it. And my facts are Correct, Retailers are being charged with Receiving equipment from E* under false names and accounts, as well as smart cards..

First, forget about smart cards. Retailers can't sell smart cards unless it's for the prepaid system. Smart cards are handled by Dish directly.

Second, I see you have over 5000 posts on here so I'm guessing you read most of the posts. Tell me how many times you have read about a customer whining about not getting what they think they deserve and threaten to cancel service and switch to a competitor.
This has been a problem that has plagued the industry now for the past 4-5 years.
Granted it was created by the industry by allowing it to happen, but the industry is now taking a hard look at all these promo hoppers and are trying to put an end to it. Dish does have a system in place that catches these people and it categorizes them as "Formers" or if Dish sees that the customer has left and come back more than once, they will just reject the customer. Here is where most customers get crafty and work the system because they may not like being rejected or they don't like the promotion offered to "Formers".

What customers do not understand is the massive costs involved to acquire each and every one of you. It takes almost 2 years to break even on every customer. So when ever you want a free upgrade before the 2 year mark, you have now extended that break even point out even further. Here is where the GIMME GIMME GIMME attitude comes in if the customer doesn't get what they want under that 2 year mark. They will threaten to leave or just cancel and try to resign under a new name.

This happens a lot more than any of you can imagine and it's killing the industry.

Your facts arent correct.
You seem bound and determined to shout the mantra of "the customer is always right".
You dont even have a clue about how it works with a retailer so why are you even commenting on things you know nothing about?
Ealier you said you wanted to have a discussion but that is a lie.
You just want ot believe what you want to believe.
With over 5k posts I am shocked you tihnk that retailers are making money on equipment that tye sell to customers.
Welcome to ignore, although I doubt you care.

I don't care. and your discussion brought nothing to the table. and in this case the customer isn't at fault.

I understand the customer always want free stuff. But them really getting it is a whole other story. I see yes alot of posts ,But how is what they are requesting effecting the retailers?
All your claiming is peer pressure. Thats not the defence I would take to court. and what your failing to see is that the retailers getting busted aren't getting busted for giving customers free equipment. They are getting busted for saying they are giving phony customers equipment when there is no such customers. So what are they doing with this equipment that these retailers are getting from dish ,under false accounts that the RETAILERS made up? This is not because a retailer is trying to give a customer free equipment. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER.

Again you still continue to bring nothing but childish tactics. At least "damjr" is bring something to the table, even if we don't agree 100%. All your showing is how debate skills are really lacking ,and instead of taking it like an adult you resort to spending more time trying to offend. Just put me on ignore and you won't have to worry anymore. Later.

Do you always involve yourself in discussions on subjects you know nothing about?
that is really what you are doing here.
I suspect you have done this before.

I'm sorry for not clarifying my position on this topic.
First off, it's not just non existing customers that Dish is busting retailers for. A majority of these "false" accounts are active customers that Dish calls "flipped".
A flipped account is a customer who had service, cancels service, and opens a new account under his wife, relative, etc..... This is the main reason for destroying many lives that Dish has come up with. This is also why I have been focusing my argument this direction.

More than 80% of these fraud accounts that Dish is terminating and charging back retailers for are flipped accounts. There are many of the cases where the retailer has no idea that it will be a flipped account because the customer has all ready spun their wheels with other retailers trying to get what they want, and after they figure out what they need to do, they find their victim.

I have seen the files from Dish on these retailers and this is how I know what is going on here.

Again, there are a few retailers that were out right stealing from Dish, but there are also some innocent victims here as well. So please do not group all these retailers together.
