I'm lucky I know how to post on here much less, put up a pic!!!!I haven't done my bi-annual Random Thoughts since December, and now it's time for some more.
1. The conference championships are unique in that they are both detested by different people; Anders is not excited about the NFC Title game, but I'm sure you can appreciate what will be in the AFC Title Game- 12-4 Steelers vs. 11-5 Ravens, bitter rivalry, intense games this year, great defenses.
Well since I'm a Giants fan, of course I'm not excited about the NFC Title game but since it's the NFC Title game, I'll watch it. I enjoy the title games no matter who's in them.
2. Here's a personal prediction from me- expect talking heads in the media to proclaim the upcoming AFC Title game as "The Real Super Bowl." They'll disdain the idea of a 9-win team going to Tampa to play for it all.
I don't think so. The Pats/Colts games were the Real Super Bowl. This is just a good game with good teams and good defenses but I wouldn't put it on tap of being "The Real Super Bowl".
3. I wish BillD were here right now so I could see his reaction over the fact that the Cards are a win away from the Super Bowl.
How about all are reactions if the Cards go to the Super Bowl?
4. If the Big East is the best of the major college basketball conferences, what's the worst?
It's probably any one of those conferences that get one team in the NCAA tourney and are one and done.
5. Anders shouldn't panic over UNC's two losses; last year, a Kansas team that went on to win the national title lost to a very mediocre Oklahoma State team.
To early to tell with College Basketball. Still in football mode.
6. I heard the Broncos are hiring Josh McDaniels as their new head coach, the coordinator of that legendary Pats offense of 2007. Can you imagine what he can do with the likes of Cutler, Marshall, and Royal? All they need is a running back ala Maroney.
The Broncos are a weird team. They are either really good or so so. When they are good nobody really talks about them. They sometimes are just fly under the radar sometimes.
7. It's hard to believe Wake Forest is off to their best start since 1980-81. Hard to think that even the great teams of Tim Duncan and Chris Paul started that well!
The ACC is tough. Let me see Wake Forest in March be as good as they are now.
8. Jim Rice was FINALLY elected to the Hall of Fame. Hard to believe he was held back so long because of his so-called "bad attitude." In a world of T.O. and Pacman, Rice was probably a teddy bear in retrospect!
I mentioned this in another thread but based on statistics, he deserved to get in.
9. Anyone excited about the NHL All-Star Game?
I'll try to watch it but then again I'm not going to get hyped like I would for the Super Bowl over it.
10. What is going to take for Sandra to post a pic of herself? Do the New York Rangers or Yankees have to win a championship? Does St. John's have to make the NCAA Tournement?
Oh please no. No, No, I don't mean that as a knock on Sandra. Sandra, if you would like to post a pic of you up, go ahead. That's your decision, though. I don't want the Yankees near a championship!!!
11. Even though many things are happening in sports I never thought would happen, one thing that you can ALWAYS count on- Northwestern basketball will NEVER make the NCAA Tournament. That is the only thing that can be mentioned with death and taxes as a certainty.
Well, things could change. I mean eventually teams that have a drought will eventually make it. I mean how can you not especially if your one of the big conferences that take 5 or 6 teams every year.
12. Salsa, if you're in the Raiders shoes, who do you take in the NFL Draft?
That's a tough one. I wouldn't know. Btw, Salsa, not to make fun of you in anyway because your a good poster but how does it feel to know that Miami was named fattest city in America.
13. Today is Joe Frazier's birthday, and it got me thinking about his legendary "Fight of the Century" with Ali in 1971 It's hard to believe that, once upon a time, boxing title fights were HUGE! Now, the world heavyweight title fights get as much attention and excitement as a Rams/Lions game.
Yeah, but people will say that MMA or UFC has knocked boxing out with cough, wrestling, cough. I think there is no depth in Boxing anymore. There's nobody that you could relate too, like Tyson (unfortuntely, he made a ton of dough and people watched him fight), Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe, Foreman.
14. I heard that Tennessee women's hoops is ranked only #13 in the polls. While that doesn't sound so bad, consider it's the first time they are not in the top 10 since 1986! Is the empire crumbling?
I don't know. That's shocking!!! I didn't know that. As long as the Uconn Women's team doesn't make it, I don't care.
15. What's the best video game console you have ever played?
I'm assuming your talking about Nintendo, Sega etc. I'll go with Playstation.

17. A year ago, the Lions were 6-2 heading into their game in Arizona against a 3-5 Zona team. It's amazing what opposite directions both teams have gone since that game. The Lions have only won a single game since then (none this year), while the Cards are a win away from the Super Bowl.
That's amazing. The Cards have been a favorite for some for yrs.
18. How come Mets82 or Sandy don't have an avatar? Come on- show something that reflects your pride in your teams!
How do I put up an avatar. I'm a Giants and Mets fan. Pride? Pride? Haven't I suffered enough!!!!
19. If Arizona plays Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl, I will challenge EVERY Steeler fan on this site to an avatar bet.

20. The Giants' loss yesterday made me realize how hard it is to repeat in sports recently. The Red Sox came damn close to getting another shot, LSU went off the rails, and Kansas is spinning out of control. Still, the Celtics and Red Wings still have to be considered serious threats!
The Red Wings are always dangerous. I hope the Lakers challenge the Celtics.
21. Which teams do you think could host the NFL Network's Thanksgiving game?
I don't care as long as it doesn't stink. I'd love to see the Giants. Fat chance. Maybe the Pats or the Saints, I really don't care as long as it's not the Lions. Oh wait...
22. What's your favorite candy bar?
Hershey Candy Bar. I could have one of those everyday.
23. IMO, defensive statistics are sometimes overrated. The number of yards you give up gets a lot of attention, but I mainly care about two things: sacks and takeaways. Look at why the Bengals had the year they had in 2005- they were amazing in terms of turnovers and takeaways!
True sacks and takeaways are important. I'd like to know that then anything else.
24. Am I the only one who thinks the movie 'Mean Girls' is fun to watch?
I haven't seen the movie but I heard it was good. The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants was good if anybody saw it.
25. With a lot of discussion about us showing pictures of what we look like- Salsadancer, Sandra, etc.- I'd like to see some of your pictures.

In 1986 there weren't as many talented women players as there are now. It's somewhat like the old days in college football with unlimited scholarships, a lot of top players at the traditional football schools. With more good players to go around it makes it harder for Tennessee to dominate like they always did. The level of play in womens basketball has really increased in the last twenty years. You don't have the dunks like in the mens game but the ball handling and shooting has improved exponentially.

Why does it really matter if they are fake or real? IF they are, it make HER feel good...and if it makes HER feel good and hypothetically she was with you, then she would make YOU feel good because she feels good.
