2008 NFL Playoff Thread

Back to the topic of playoff football. GOD that was a boring game. ANOTHER reason why I dislike them so much. They play the most boring football in all the NFL. I am hoping the Cards have ONE MORE bullet left in their holster and beat the Steelers.

Agreed. For anyone to say "he's no NFL QB" is complete speculation. Troy hasn't had enough playing time to actually make that conclusion one way or another.

And yet you guys know enough that state JaMarcus is not good enough to be a starting QB in the NFL....

Salsa,
I am the one that stood up for Troy originally and HD MM did as well pointing out that Troy has only been able to play a few games and has only 2 starts in his career, which is WAY to short of time to determine whether he can play in the NFL.

That said, I have NEVER said that Russel could not play.

Look, I thought Troy was a good QB coming out of tOSU withsome great raw tools as a pocket passer.....a JaMarcus lite, if you will.....but obviously, the Ravens did not see it in him because they drafted ANOTHER QB at the 1st chance they got. THAT says alot.

About that helmet-to-helmet hit at the end of the Pittsburgh/Baltimore game- this will get some very interesting reactions.

Personally, I hope McGahee's OK. I'm just thankful there's movement- I don't want another Dennis Byrd or Kevin Everett moment.

I don't think so... was a clean ht of a receiver going over the middle.

Your right Salsa,
When you watch the replay it is clear that the defender went at the shoulder pads and the RB tipped his head down, your usually taught to keep your head UP.

I am glad to see McGhee is moving all his limbs, hopefully we'll hear good news about him soon.

I think it was Clark for the Steeler's, but if you look at him when he came off with the trainers, he had NO IDEA where he was.
After he got to the bench and sat down for a bit, he came around and was talking and walking on the sideline.
He'll have 2 weeks to shake the cobwebs and hopefully they won't diagnose he had a concussion.

Congrats to the Steelers. As was mentioned earlier it was a very boring game, but boring won. Given how good the Steelers D is if THEY can't figure a way to stop Fitzgerald then I guess the Cardinals do deserve to be the champs. I'm just glad the Eagles didn't make it so good luck to both teams.

So much for the vaunted Philly secondary. The Cardinals look like a team of destiny now. Their bandwagon is filling up fast. This from a team that had the lowest attendance in the league for years and barely even sold out their wild card game against Atlanta. But whatever. The Eagles suck so I'm for whoever beats them.

Every Cardinal game ever played at UoP Stadium has been sold out!

Ken Whisenhut, Head Coach
Russ Grimm, Assistant Head Coach, O-Line Coach.

Both canidates for the Steelers HC position. Both now in Arizona!

There is your story line folks.

The last meeting of these teams.

Arizona won!

What do you have against the Eagles?

IIRC, Carolina BEAT Philly to make the Super Bowl in January 2004, not the other way around.
That was a sweet win, trust me. My dislike of the Eagles is 2 things. First, their fans are complete cavemen so I hate seeing them win and giving their fans an excuse to be more obnoxious than they already are. Second, the Eagles as a team have way too much drama. They treat McNabb like total sh*t and expect him to be grateful. They worshipped the ground TO walked on until he started acting crazy, and now they hate him. It's always something with that team.

A lot of team fans will criticize their quarterback if he has a bad game or makes bad decisions.

I can't help but wonder- how would you compare the way Panther fans are pissed off at Delhomme after his debacle against Arizona to the way Eagle fans will get on Donovan's case when he struggles?

I'll bet that in Charlotte, the radio stations were lit up with scathing criticism of Jake in light of those six turnovers.

It's nothing like Philly. Those morons booed McNabb on DRAFT DAY! I don't ever recall Delhomme getting booed at home before the loss to Arizona. Philly fans boo McNabb after a 3 and out. And most Panther fans realize that Delhomme has had a lot to do with the team's success in recent years. We've had other QB's and they were terrible. Eagles fans have no appreciation for their guy except when he does something magnificent and then they expect him to forget that they boo him constantly, drafted a no name to replace him and benched him at midseason.

Like I told Anders, you need apx. a year and a half to make an accurate judgment on a QB. J-Marc is 2 games away from playing a year and a half worth of professional football games. A much larger sample piece than Troy Smith.

you can use that championship browns Tshirt Lebron was wearing as we know browns and the superbowl aint going to happen any time soon.

Now that Cards are finally going to the Superbowl......The five teams without making an appearance in the Superbowl are....

1)The Detroit Lions...Paul?:D;)
2)New Orleans Saints
3)The Cleveland Browns:D:D:D
4)The Houston Texans
5)The Jacksonville Jaguars
