Really ?? Rsn's don't ?

yes they all repeat. rsn's,premium movie channels,in fact most channels repeat content. doesn't matter who you're with.you'll find plenty of repeats. let's just be with the provider that makes us happy.

Really ?? Rsn's don't ? So your saying for $110 per month you get less repeats the E*. Very Doubtful! See D* customers always say there is nothing but repeats on all the premiums,
But they forget that D* Really only has
2 Cinemax channels,
4 HBO's,
4 Showtime channels,
1 TMC.
Because the rest are west feeds. So Yea your right Most of D* premiums repeat the same programs every 3 hours. and Yet D* charges the most for the premiums then anyone!
Lets see E* has
4 Cinemax
6 HBO's
8 Showtimes
and 2 TMC
Thats Just the East feeds.

hey man you've changed that post like 3 times :D:p

Hemi, we know you love premiums and we know E* has more, give it a rest.

Im not too worried about my Choice going up a few bucks, what Id like to know is, is Directv going to give us more package options any time soon. Just having Choice and Choice Xtra sucks, how about a HD only pack.

Sorry ! and your right. But I wouldn't have said anything on D* price increase if I didn't see everyone compairing it to E* price increase right off the bat. But I refuse to pay this amout for myself or my tenents. D* didn't add enough for me to justify an price increase. The increases and the lack of channels being added lately makes me think jacmyoung was right. All D* subcribers are paying for that 700million $ NFL ST bill.

yes some new options would be nice but E has the gold, silver and bronze colors taken so D's new packages would consist of the following colors: pewter, oil rubbed bronze and brass :p

for your tenants? hey man, you got room there for 2 more :p:D

Serious question. Why is SD still around? Can we kill it yet? These cable and satellite companies need to totally reevaluate the way they do business regarding paying a premium for HD content. Major Bullsh!t.
It's still around because a majority of consumers do not have HD yet. That includes me, and with the economy the way it is I won't be getting HD anytime soon.

That is a very mature, positive method of going about it. These days there should be more like you to be honest. If this were an ongoing problem, sure raise hell and kick...... Since it was not, very impressive, and I would like to think I would do the same.:up

Don't act like all the cool colors are taken, Rey; I was broke in Vegas a few years back & took the "Treasure Island" hotel tour (which was still being built) & the outside color was none other than 'Cock Mauve'. I think this color would be the perfect color package for many posters in this thread.

Yeah right, that will be the death of the DVR!:p

Not only will it be the death of the DVR when the price goes up $8 on the DVR Advantage but it will MOST CERTAINLY be the death of some of their subscriber base. $8 is just too much and they WILL shop around. Even if the competition is not cheaper they will give them a promotion when they call in and they will lose the customer anyhow.

This is happening with DirecTV once a year now—and in the month of March. It's now a routine. But I do wonder whether people will start getting rid of service. This economy is the perfect opportunity for quite a number to say, "Can't afford you no more. But I can live without you." This is not only addressing DirecTV but also any provider of cable programming where it's now an annual schedule of pricing increases.

I can understand your point, but I don't agree with it. Most people would rather pay the $$$ for a quality product, than being stuck with a cheap piece of junk that doesn't provide what they want. And that's what Directv's DVR's are:junk! IMO, the biggest mistake E* can make, is shopping the 922 around to Directv and cablecos. The 922, as we've already heard, will revolutionize the way we can/will view tv. So, why mass market it for a few extra bucks in the short term, when you could use it to draw customers to your service? And as far as the fees are concerned, I don't look for them to be around much longer.

And while most will complain about price increases, it's just common practice to adjust your price by 3% for inflation every year. The customer will always complain about the price increase. Most companies offset this increase by restructuring the product. You end up getting less, for the same price, if not more. For example: A 1lb bag of salad did sell in my store for $1.69. Now, the same bag has been cut down to 14oz and sells for the same price. And 99% of the time, the customer doesn't even realize what has happened!

Not really, because the retailers are going to push the DVR's the same as they did last year.

There are a few who will opt to save a few dollars by not getting a DVR, but look at the take rate on Top100 DVR advantage, its still very high.

As far as the price increase with Directv, I fully expected it to happen and even with Dish Networks $8 Price increase on some package, Dish network is still cheaper when you figure in multi-room receivers because your not paying $5 for the 2nd or 4th room.

The no phone line fee is now waived on the first DVR receiver

It is too bad though that the HD recivers are not multi-room you may have some D customers thinking about Dish....I would
