FOX NEWS ROLLS DOWN TO CLASSIC BRONZE 100

, and it was very clear on the website as such. Only later did they start spewing the mantra that you are citing.

.
Another thing I can confirm is that morning E* website was infact having work done. That could have been a error on their part. Updating the website is my guess not a simple task. But I couldn't log in that morning ,and I bet many others couldn't either. You might have see an Unfinished update that your weren't supposed too.
Think about it Millions of E* customers are not going on E* website daily. Just the diehards like us. If E* wanted to Trick us they would have kept it up much longer then 1 hour, More like 1 week. If 500 people visited that website that hour ,I'd be surprised. If 100 people saw what you saw I'd be surprised.

I am perfectly happy that I still have standard definition sets (right next to my 8-track tape player and record player) and that ALL my channels look just fine to me. If having an HD set causes this much stress becuase certain channels are not offered in hi-def, then I will hold off until I'm forced to get an HD set.

I think DISH Network could justify their $5 increase on Bronze Turbo, if they had all Bronze Classic Hd in Bronze Turbo HD package. To jack up price $5 with no new channels just plain sucks

Well, I definitely don't think they were trying to trick me or anyone else; I think they screwed up. My problem is that they just pretended like it never happened.

And your website assumptions aren't quite right. Using Compete.com, you can see that Dish has averaged about 5 million unique visitors per month over the past year. If you divide that by 30, you get 166,667 visitors per day. Divide that by 4 and you get about 7,000 per hour. And that is assuming that visits are evenly spread, but that number will be higher during the day the at 3 in the morning. Just saying...

It was up for a day plus or minus, not an hour.

5 million per month to view and pay there bill. Not Looking at Turbo bronze channel line up. I garentee you 7000 people did not see what you saw. Remember E* lost more customer then they added, I doubt many New customers got misled from the website.
If there was any misleading it was from DBS Talk and Satellite guys members not proving what they saw or what they claimed they saw.

This is EXACTLY the point.

If I were a Turbo subscriber, I wouldn't care about Fox News ITSELF. (I'd actually be happy none of my dollars were going to it.) I'd be wondering what's going to happen down the line and wondering why I'm paying such a ridiculously high price for such a tiny package of channels, with no indication that it would ever become a better value.

I had AT 200 when I started with DISH. I knew that anytime a new basic english channel appeared, I would receive it. When AT250 appeared, I subscribed to that, knowing the same thing.

I think it's ridiculous that someone paying $60 a month for the top level of HD channels should have to wonder if they are going to get access to a new HD channel...particularly one that's available to virtually EVERY SD customer.

I was DDA TurboHD Gold for $59.99.

With this "Fox stuff" I moved down to DDA Classic Bronze 100 with BronzeHD for $54.99.

Yes, I lost some channels, but my kids got some SD channels that they liked back. I would sooner pay for a package that Dish is supporting ...

Again take a screen shot next time.;)

For what it is worth, I saw it too ;) :up

With that being said, this was an error on Dish's part. Mistakes happen. I do no think that the new Fox channels were ever intended to go into the TurboHD packages from the get go. Soon???

Agree! I don't think it was part of the agreement with FOX. Fox was just happy to get back into the top 100 pack.

Hello all I have been a Dish subscriber for over 6 years. I have been a member or at least a reader to SatelliteGuys for about 2 years, and this is my first post.

Anyway I have the infamous screen shot! :)

I also do not understand the point of having an active, advertised package, yet having the number of channels in it remain static. What's the point? It may still be worth it for now, but one has to wonder what other HD channels Dish will choose to omit in TurboHD and at what point does the package lose its value advantage.

Let me know what happens on Jack Benny tonight.

Also, you've missed the point completely.

I agree that the website change was certainly a mistake (albeit, an incredibly cruel one for subs like me). However, I have a problem with the fact that they won't admit to it, nor will they say *anything* about Turbo subs. Basically, just let us know your immediate plans for us! I don't need to know precisely what channels we will get if we get any at all; just tell us! If they tell me that nothing will be added from here on out to the Turbo packs, I will gladly change my subscription to better fulfill my watching habits. It is the massive information gap that is killing me.

Unfortunately, some Absolute subs switched to Turbo thinking that they would get the new channels, only to find out they didn't. That is mostly their fault, but nothing that I can find on the Dish website says whether or not any changes will be made to either packages. Again, simply saying that they plan on adding or not adding new HD channels will get the sand out of my crack... so to speak...

As for the website hits, I don't think either of us will be able to prove anything. I just don't think that only 100 people saw the page. That's all.

Ya know, thinking back a month ago when I was looking to trim down some bills and I decided to downgrade from America's Top 200 with Sliver HD to TurboHD Gold. Seeing what channels I was suppose (based on the website) to have, then come home by 5pm and and the list change, call our CSR's and have them basically tell me that I saw an illusion and I was crazy kinda P'ssd me off. But then again I can tell you guys horror stories with Dish since my PVR 501.

That being said, I still choose Dish over the other crappy offers from TV providers, and I honestly feel they are trying to make better. They know they jerked a lot of people.

Best first post ever.

Still, I think all this is besides the point. What ARE the Turbo packages, and why should anyone subscribe to them?

It's a relatively "new" product line for DISH, that was heavily promoted (I was so sick of those ads!) They now appear to be abandoning it, jacking the price to ridiculous levels on the way out as a final FU. Probably not the case, but that's how it looks.

It's just bizarre marketing. The last thing DISH needs is more confusing choices. It's no way to attract customers, which is what they need at this point.

I just thought it was a great idea. I mean, I have hd tvs and they have an hd only package; perfect marriage, right? It is a quasi a la carte package for me, in that I will watch anything in HD.

On a per channel basis, I pay an exorbitant amount of money. By my crazy logic, I should be a very valuable customer to Dish, but based on their recent moves, I must be missing something. Since I happily signed up last October, I have lost a few channels and gained a few (for a net gain of about nothing). If that was all that had happened, I would be fine. I signed up for a package that was a great value to me. However, Dish has benevolently decided to increase my bill by $10. From where I am sitting, I have no new programming, I see others with new channels, and I enjoyed the biggest price increase of any of the Dish subscribers... Good times...

JDMACOR ... you should update your signature. You have Fox News and Fox Business on your HD Wish List. Dish now has these channels, just not in the TurboHD packages ;)
