4/9/2009 7:04pm - Uplink Activity Report - 27 changes

It is really weird how so many people are reporting artifacts on Comedy Central on the first day we had it in HD. Most say they were gone on the second day, but a few still see them.

I am on 129. I have seen NO artifacts on Comedy Central from the moment they lit it up in HD. Although the Daily Show and the Colbert Report are up conversions, the PQ is WAY better than the SD I was watching earlier this week. What is going on?

Do you think that the video quality has anything to do with SD Mpeg 2 vs HD Mpeg 4? Up-converted or not?

A lot of artifacts were on South Park Thursday night, which is a true HD program. Hard to say what that was about.

I'm assuming you just watched your DVR recording because those artifacts only lasted the first few uplinked hours (so far as I noticed). Either way, they have since been resolved and the picture is clean.

I have the 250 with HD and I thought I got all HD. But im missing the channels MTV, Nick, and a few others that are listed in Red.

Did Dish introduce a new package that needs ordered to get these? Thought I was able to get all HD.

Okay to put this to bed. I did a check switch last night to try and get the HD "Viacom" channels to come on. It did not change them. I called in to Dish today and the CSR had me do the same check switch and they showed up and are now on. I asked if she had done anything and she stated she had done nothing just had me run a check switch..

Bottom line they must need to do something in there computers at Dish to get this on. But they won't admit it lol

I have the Absolute HD package. No new channels. In order to get the new Viacom channels I would have to change my package to one $50 per month more expensive. What a rip.
