I don't understand all the attention LeBron's getting for heading directly to the locker room following the loss either. Is the guy nearly that flawless that something like this gains so much attention?
Look, I know it would be more "sports-man-like" to go shake the winner's hand and to speak openly to the media following the loss. But what for? So the media can ask him assassin questions? For him to get bombarded with questions speculating about his future in Cleveland? Dude has so much emotion wrapped into this game and cares so much about winning that when he doesn't, he's noticeably upset, which is the way he should be.
Let the man grieve. He's a competitor. He hates losing. It took me 3 days to come on here and congratulate Magic fans and I'm not even a member of the team! Lol.

Really?? It is possible to do both you know, care passionately about winning but also be magnanimous in defeat.
He did apparently send a congratulatory email to Howard. I guess that's how it must be done nowadays.

but those words have always stuck with me).LeBron showed quite a classless, childish side of himself in this loss. I expected better from him. His explanation for not congratulating your opponent for winning should be banned from any and every child's sporting teaching tool that exisits!
Cy, I'm sorry to be blunt, but I find it very ironic that you of all people are agreeing with Vurb's accusations of LeBron being "classless" for not shaking the hand of an opponent. This is coming from YOU who openly roots for opponents injuries?! Come on!

I agree, I watch professional sports for the games, I could care less how "classy" they are in defeat.
Half these people who complain should look at their own players and franchises, it is ok until someone else does it.
Look, LeBron has made one mistake since coming into the league at the age of 19. The mistake was not shaking the hand of an opponent in defeat. A mistake? Sure. One that he'll learn from? Sure. But, please let's not lose grip of reality. LeBron has proven to be a class-act in every other aspect of his illustrious 6 year professional career. I find it completely overboard and wrong for those of you who are jumping all over him and calling him "classless" in this isolated error of judgment.
Honestly, he makes ONE mistake and some folks are over reacting. i'm not going to push this topic any further with my comments. i hear and respect what others are saying but we have a great game ahead of us and would love to read what you guys have to say about it.
Yeah. This is crazy. The guy has been nothing but a classy sportsman his entire career. He made a small mistake - - it happens. It's actually refreshing to see a mega-rich superstar get so pissed off over losing. Unfortunately, lots of pro-athletes don't have that competitive fire.

This is my last post on this: Like I said in post #1503, the passion for winning and respect for the opponent are not mutually exclusive.
It also took Julius Erving seven years to win a title, IIRC.
It took Shaq eight years to do so- ditto for Isiah Thomas.

This could be huge in the Cavs’ offseason plans, as Wallace has one year and $14 million left on his contract!!!! If he was to retire and leave the money on the table (or accept a buyout) the Cavs will have more money to play with this offseason.
