Hello

I am new to this forum and would like to get a Directv qestion answered. I have had Directv for about nine years I left for a short while and went to comcast due to to fact I could not get HD due to the fact that I was to close to the tree line.
I hated comcast so much that I went back to Directv about a year and a half ago. Resently I had several trees come down and I took a couple down so not to hit my house. I now have a clear view of the sky where the trees were. I spoke Directv about moving the loction of the dish (I know that I would need a different dish to get HD) from the upper roof of my house to a lower area to go through the now open line of site. They said that the installer put the dish where it needed to be and that they were not wrong. I tried to explain to the person on the phone what I was looking to do and it was like smashing my head into wall.
Does any one have any sugestions, or should I just give up.
Thanks frustrated customer

Dave

Look in your local phonebook for a local DIRECTV installer.
Have a local DIRECTV installer come out and move your dish and upgrade you to HD.

I'm finding out that unless you have a very cut and dry question that the CSR's don't know how to handle anything that they aren't use to. There's no talking to them. That is the only thing I mis from my cable company. They were very easy to talk to and would go above and beyond what was expected. Forget that with Direct.

As stated a few posts above call a local retailer if possible. If you are not asking something that is in the 800# CSR's script then you are not gonna get much help. Ask about a searching for signal or a fuzzy picture and they might can help. Ask a question like yours and get the same blow you off generic answer.

The problem is, they don't tell you to call a local installer. If it wasn't for this site I would be lost.

If you are wanting to upgrade to HD they will have to come out to give you a new dish anyway.;) When the installer comes to put up the new dish you can discuss the best location for the dish.:up
