Yo east coast, we be in the bag here in MD!

Just for fun I put a trash bag on our 18" round dish an hour ago. Conditions here are failing as the huge storm out of Texas crosses the VA Tidewater and eastern MD.
The weather folks are predicting two feet of snow with high winds. During the day snow fell and melted (on the dish for awhile). When I put the black trash bag with draw string over the dish I used one of those green scrubbies with hot water to remove any ice..+ dried it off. Got 15 points up on all transponders for that.

So the bag is on the dish and snow is descending on Friday night. Temps heading for the 20s.

More will be revealed.

Seriously? Here in NH(where snow is common) I have never had to do any of that. Snow lands on dish, I brush it off......if I feel like it........and all is fine. No ice......etc. But that's just me.

huh...? r u drinking?

Well, yeah...a little. Too much to drive in a storm!

We have had blizzard warnings here with pics from Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Philly. This place is about to get smacked with a ....(TURN ON THE BOOM MUSIC)...Blizzard...BLIZZARD...BLIZZZZZZ.........They have already closed...CLOSED! Miss Lucy's school of Ballet & Dance. Other schools are going home early.

I thought it would be in the spirit of the season to report from the eye of the storm....

Stay tuned...the 101 is BLASTING THROUGH THE STORM from 23,000 miles out!
Transponder numbers to follow!

Slimlines will tolerate alot more snow than an average 18inch dish. i havent had any problems with mine. we could get 6 inchs of snow and it usually melts rather quickly.. however ice storms we had in the past week, didnt bother my dish.

DRAMA!

Guys you just gotta punch this up. I have driven in the north where they just point out there is another ten inches out there. This is an in-depth report of...of...the depth.

Joe

yah im drinking too.. red beer.. mmmmm..

im so glad i dont work for Dtv anymore. we're getting snowed up to 6 inches by monday.

It gts better!

I had a small landscape company and we did snow removal. There were years upon years where these conditions would find me just nuts keeping snow from piling up......Then I did DTV in a next life..Now I am doing neither and still it snows.

Have fun Joe!

It's working!

I was just out to check the bag and note the transponders when, under the shrubs I heard a voice:

"I knew you would be back! I saw your muscle bound torso in the snow and shadows while you were up on the ladder. I just had to...to ..know you...if you understand my meaning/"

So I said, "Well heck yeah! Take me big woman.... snow coming down heavy...we are looking forward to 20+ inches!

More later,

Joe

is it me or does joe seem like a psycho now?

sounds like a song..

Halie: my dad's gone crazy....

They promised me that no matter how many miles I drove it was all good honest work. When I mentioned the voices they told me it was the radio. I believed them. The lady in the shrubs was there. She was!

Anyhow the transponders are rolling along.......good PQ....more at eleven! (EST)

I know you folks in the Mid-Atlantic states aren't use to so much snow, but here in Upstate New York, a couple of feet of snow isn't much more than a minor inconvenience. I wouldn't worry about covering your dishes. Nobody here does and there's never a snow-related problem, unless of course, the snow brings down a power line and puts us all in the dark.

yah my slimline has survived in all the snow we had in the midwest... even ice storm.. it held up didnt lose nothing and its still snowing tonight. im watching tv as we speak...

no need to cover the dish.. really.

Hey wait a minute!

I was a minor inconvenience once. It was snowing like hech and our job in the Poconos was stopped. I met this skier girl in a skier bar and we went back to her place...which turned out to be her palace and her sister who was also watching a child nobody owned in a matrimonial way.
Well the next morning the sister showed up with the kid...went nuts because the sister of my eye was not supposed to bring any more "minor inconveniences" back to their house until they were ready to marry up and take responsibility. I thought I was old enough!

Who knew?
