NBA Basketball 2009-10 Season

Expectations should always be high for every team, each and every year. What is the point if your goal is something other than a championship? ;)

Sandra

Yeah....ALL that will NOT make the playoffs...ALL had high expectations to win the championship? I truly doubt that.

Hell, even throw in seeds 5 and lower IN the playoffs for that matter.

Regardless of what happens this year, this kid (LeBron) has many more chapters yet to write before we close the books on him. The fact that people are starting to compare him to Jordan though is a very telling sign of how special he really is.

Great point. Just the fact that they are mentioned together speaks volumes...

Then you'll understand my excitement/anxiety as we get further along in the NBA playoffs this year. :)

I know EXACTLY what you are going through. But again, that was not the topic of discussion. The expectations are high for the Cavs....and in the end, have a great regular season record will be COMPLETELY forgotten...or talked little about IF a championship is not won....REGARDLESS of the sport. Ask the PATRIOTS, last years CAVS, the Mavericks the year they lost to the HEAT for the NBA championship. How many people have made a big issue about their great regular season accomplishments....?:(

I understand what you're saying, but it's kind of rude to downplay the current accomplishments. Sports are all about fun. Let me enjoy the ride and mourn or celebrate when the season is officially over.

Well said HD. :up

Notice it's usually fans of teams who WILL NOT win the championship that make these types of comments.

Why not? If anything age is a more accurate comparison. Experience wise, yes they are at the same stage, but physically and mentally, LeBron is still 3 years behind Jordan was during his first Championship and THAT my friend is scary!!

Nope....Mentally....they were in the same stage...IF not Lebron was more advanced simply because Lebron's HIGH SCHOOL games were being televised. THAT was not done when Jordan was a high schooler. HELL, he didn't even make the his high school team till his junior year. And PHYSICALLY, Lebron was MUCH MORE advanced than Jordan.

7 years NBA experience is 7 years experience....whether you are 20 or 18...age means nothing.

LOL!! You are SOOO missing the point. I don't want you to celebrate anything yet because in the end...you do NOT want to win the Eastern Conference...you want to win the NBA championship. At the same token, do NOT mourn anything EITHER because in the grand scheme of things....you want THE championship...the big enchalada!

Because of all the years of heartbreak and frustration. I do not make ANY issue of the regular season highs and lows. PLAYOFF high and lows are a whole different issue.

How bout those Magic..

IF I were you, I would not count your chickens too much either. NO ONE is the WEST is gonna give it to you guys.;) NOTHING is won on paper.....

How do you read THAT much into my one word? I never mentioned anything about my team being handed the West.
