Post all your installation questions and problems in this thread to help all that are having installations problems and questions.

I'll start. Okay the installer is here and the install is running smoothly. No, you don't get an OTA antenna installation for the $29, just the module. One problem we are having is the program guide info doesn't seem to fully populate. We've done a few check switches and hard resets and no guide info.

Also the guide does not show the channel logos. Any ideas?

From my experience with other receivers, the guide data can take some time to populate on first install or after a power outage.

There is already a dedicated 922 sub-forum above. That is where this belongs.

Now also a problem communicating with Slingbox

Also now that I'm playing with it and tried to set up the Sling feature (followed the pdf that Scott posted), I get this message:

There was a problem communicating with your Slingbox.

Please try again later.

I can see the 922 with remote access and set up recordings, I just can't watch any Slinged content off the 922. I guess between no EHD transfer (which was reported to be working with limited functionality), no Station Logos in the Guide and no Sling feature yet, that's the price that you have to pay to be an early adopter!

Sling is not working, the 922 tv everywhere screen is solid white, and no connection on the pc side of things. The guide on the 922 has no channel logos, and the my account and weather menus are solid white as well...techs cannot figure it out and they are driving another box over right now.

same here. Any ideas?

I installed my own 922 this morning ( DNS Tech ) and I ran into a few snags..

Time on 922 was hours off ( Fixed using front red reset button behind door of Receiver )

I turned it off for about 30 mins, then reset it and it also fixed channel logos.

My sling streaming was spotty ( one time would work, next time would not ) but its getting better

Only thing im still looking into is home streaming of music/pictures and whatnot.

same here. Any ideas?

The brought over a second box with the same result. A supervisor was also here, as they spent 3.5 hours on this thing.

Apparently this has been happening with other installs and Dish is apparently meeting regarding the performance issues. They left the box hooked up for now. The regular tv functions work.

The issues I have are:

- no sling link activity, the tv everywhere menu is a blank white screen
- weather menu is blank white
- my account menu is blank white
- no channel logos
- i over heard there are problems with the search functions, haven't tried yet
- noticeable overscan with the guide and some of the menus
- Also overheard the engineer indicate that EHD are not being recognized, as nine is not.
- there is talk of a firmware update or updates

So far not impressed.
I will move a 211 into the living room so I am back to the way i was until this gets resloved.

I got everything working fine here. Sling is a little buggy and slow and the remote input is like having a hr box from directv.

OK I am up and running now all of a sudden.

NOTE: I just posted this in an EHD-specific thread, thought I'd reply here as well

same problem here. Just got off the phone with a CSR, and we went over the following items:

No logos in the channel guide (I know, not a big deal)
nothing but a white screen when I go to:
Weather
My Account
TV Everywhere
Search doesn't find anything except items I've downloaded from dishonline*
DLNA media streaming is SPOTTY. Most of the time it doesn't even see my dlna server.

*So since these all seem to be related to internet access, I did go to dishonline and downloaded one of the dan rather reports in hd. It took about 45 minutes, but did connect and download, so I know the device is getting out to the internet.

My guess with the white screens is the web server on the dish side is overwhelmed by all the new 922's coming online today, and timing out to the browser client in these boxes.

No idea why the EHD won't register.

CSR said they were all getting ready to go into a big meeting where they were going to report these issues, and they were getting many calls on this. I also spoke with the tech who brought the 922 today, (he made a courtesy call back to me) and he said none of the techs installing 922s were having any luck with these features, or else he would consider bringing a different 922.
