According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders are among the list teams that have the Steelers have contacted about a trade for Ben.

The other teams include Buffalo, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Seattle, and others.

Yes, I know, it is Adam Schefter. The Raiders have a pure hatred for Mr. Schefter.

Yet, his sources are top notch, and it shouldn't seem surprising that the Steelers are considering the opportunity to trade him if it means a top ten pick in return.

The Steeler's would probably deal with Oakland over the others if the players and picks that were mentioned earlier are accurate.

IF there is ANY truth to this....then they are desperate to get them off their hands if they are talking to their rival, the Cleveland Browns.

Is THIS sexual assult going to just slip by ?

Polian: Colts won't discipline Foster

Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian says the team will not discipline defensive tackle Eric Foster, who faces a sexual assault lawsuit.
AFC South blog

Kuharsky ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky writes about all things AFC South in his division blog.

• Blog network: NFL Nation

A 22-year-old hotel receptionist is suing Foster, claiming that he sexually assaulted her in his room at an Indianapolis hotel before the AFC Championship Game on Jan. 24.

Polian said Wednesday that the team has no reason to discipline Foster because police investigated the incident and prosecutors later decided not to file charges.

He says Foster remains with the team and will participate in its offseason program.

The Associated Press is not naming the woman because it generally does not identify alleged victims of sexual assault

Well, since Foster is held to a higher standard as an NFL player, and there is nothing about his conduct in Indianapolis that can remotely be described as admirable, responsible, or consistent with either the values of the league or the expectations of the fans, there is just going to have to be a suspension.

If Ben misses 6 games (which I think it will only be 4) how many of them do you see the Steeler's having a chance of winning ?

Atlanta
Tennessee
Tampa Bay
Baltimore ( i was really hoping this was game 5)
Cleveland
Miami

The Baltimore game will obviously be the toughest to play without Ben.

Out of the first 4 they could lose 3 of them, that alone would put them on the enge of not making the playoffs only 6 games in.

They could lose 4 of 6 actually.

Does anyone see the Players Assoc. stepping in and trying to get Ben's suspension down under the 4 Goodall is talking about with good behavior ?

No, what are they going to fight? He's shown a pattern of undesirable behavior and was punished in accordance of the personal conduct policy. Fighting the policy will likely just result in no leniency. He could probably request arbitration under the CBA .... which would be overseen by Goodell himself.

Right now everyone involved is just working to get through and over this. For the Rooneys, that healing process looks like it may include getting rid of him. The fact that they are doing that, probably just makes this issue worse.
