I used the cleaner file and reinstalled the the factory firmware on both sonicview 360 premier and sonicview-1000 how do I tell if it has worked? On the 360 premier after the factory firmware install it still says All channels, Echostar channels, Bev channels, and local channels when I press the Sat button I am I on the right path to make these legal FTA recievers? Can anyone give me advice?

Dan Rose

Make sure you hit FACTORY DEFAULT in the menu area. The cleaner file should erase any 3rd party (hack) software traces from your box making in legal. Installing the Factory default and the factory firrmware will make it FTA legal. All you need to do is make sure in the Main Menu/ Instalation /Version Information that the factory firmware version was properly installed.

I hope its the link I sent him to the one here in the downloads section (the one I used when I accidentally bricked my SV360) ;)

Yes Ice I used the cleaner file on both recievers the SV-1000 I can tell there is a change the install menu is different and one thing missing is a legacy switch option is gone. I followed the instructions with the 360 priemer. The signal strength screen is a different color and size it used to have green bar for signal strength now its orange plus it used to now it a small signal strength meter. So is this the right direction?

Pardon my LOL - but this (at first glance) (to MY twisted sense of humor anyway) sure READS like you (Ice) were sadistically HOPING that Dan would brick his w/ the same patch you used. Yes, I know I'm reading it differently than your intention, but it did crack me up!

Cereally, though, does this mean that w/ this patch you RESURRECTED a bricked SV360???

Since I'm in here now -- what's the general opinion of the SV-360, as I'm considering a few for some immediate customers??? What I was looking at, actually, was the Elite, and I'm thinking I might like it myself for its "record one channel while viewing another" feature.

Any problem w/ its power supply, as the 8000 reportedly suffers from, for instance?

TIA,

MtDo

yeah I wrote it weird

Basically I got a SV360 premium and after loading a channel list I bricked the unit. It would reboot constantly. Took us a while to find software that would stop that from happening. The cleaner file that we found was better than most other "cleaner" files.

if you do a search on "brick" here in the FTA area you'll find my thread. Tons of software in there that has been moved to the download section
(side note: Dan had been PM'ing me about these receivers and the different software before the thread was made)

I smell. I mean - I SEE. Wrong sense.

OK - so what of the general consensus re: SV-360 bang-for-buck, por favor??

I'm really disappointed w/ my GSP DVR-1100C, which cost me twice what these SV-360 Elites are going for. I guess I was HOPING that I'd get what I paid for on that thing, but it was essentially a downgrade from the $100 DVR it replaced, so I'm hoping to move back up by paying less. Stunning logic, no?

Nevermind - just wondering what you thunk of your SV-360 (you and/or any other passing common tater). I couldn't help but notice that they are NOT in the list of desireable finds searching eBay....

Anybody?

Thanks,

MtDo

there are seperate "cleaner" files for each receiver....meaning you can not use the same cleaner file on both your 360 and your 1000....did you?

what specifically are the names of all of the files you used?

It's hard to talk smack about unpopular receivers.
I get beat up by the one or two guys who have 'em.
But this is a pretty serious indictment .

...the unit actually bricked itself after a while which required me to start over.
I ended up gutting the unit and throwing it away.

I used the 360 premier cleaner software on the SV-1000 it worked just fine. Then I used a factory firmware for the 1000. When it came to 360 premier I used the cleaner and then factory firmware.

after you used the cleaner and the factory of the 360 does the satellite list have like 150 satellites in the list now?
I know mine did.

For the third time now....

What specifically are the names of the files you loaded?

I can't help you if you do not supply the information that I need and request....

Ice, also on these recievers this is what both of them say.

First

SV-1000
Boot Loader 02.04
Main software 02.22

SV-360 premier
Boot loader 01.00
USB loader 01.00
Main Software 01.19P

Does this help?

Do you mean that its back to legal FTA reciever than just wanted to make sure.
