NCAA Football 2014 season

Haha. The same as a Notre Dame team would if it were to loose. Not far.

No matter. 1 loss will not eliminate you at this point. Will get you even with most of the field as most will have losses also.
It's still way too early to count everyone out with a loss.

Which is why ND will not schedule any of the top teams. They screwed up with FSU this year, but made up with the UM game. :D

Hmmm, I thought people said Ohio State was OUT with 1 loss ?
I think it does. Unless the teams above them now lose at least 2.

The osu schedule and perception of big 10 strength this year Will not do them any favors on getting in unless they get major help.

They really needed to be unbeaten.

I think 2 Oregon losses would take them out of the Playoff contention, but as we know there's a lot of games left.
I agree. A 2 loss duck team is done. They have looked very shaky at times and I think last night exposed them as having little depth to make a run this year.

Too late for that, however, if all teams have 1 loss or more ... they should be on equal standing ...

They have had this "its the Big Ten " issue for 30 years now.

Why is it that the sec east gets propt up where it is, they are not any better than any other league, BT included, it's the sec west that carries them.

That is reality. Most people felt that the OSU schedule and the Big 10 being down was going to be bad for yalls chances before the season started. Many of us here mentioned it several times. Were they not OSU, they would likely not be ranked at all honestly.

Propped up? There is only one of them ranked in the Coaches poll. 2 in the AP, but it wont factor into anything.

Most, even the "SEC honks" say that the east is down, with one, maybe two decent teams.

Every year they rank that Creampuff team and every year they getwacked by some nobody. I don't get it, voters must like to look at their pretty uniforms. The PAC12 is light in the pants. SEC SEC SEC
It's the west coast mentality that Oregon has, score a bunch of points while sacrificing any and all pretense of defense. Works okay until you play a team that actually has a defense.

In Oregon's case their defeat did not take a good defense since Arizona was awful ranking in the 80's in total defense.
Then again, a sorry offensive line can make any defense look great.

Thats true, but then again, would you change your formula if you were their coach?
It is as effective as most any other highly ranked team over the last 4 or 5 seasons, with their worst being what? 10-3?

Problem is that it leads to a bunch of 10-2 & 11-1 seasons, with no National Championships. The reason why the SEC had the run that it did, is it's defenses were able to shut down the other teams in the BCS game.

What's hurt Ohio St., is that it's loss was to a now unranked VPI, who continues to lose.

If Arizona all the sudden took a dump, then Oregon would be similarly affected. The key to losing is to know when and who to. A big loss to a bad team is far worse than a close loss to a good team.

Thats a good problem to have for every team except the Blue Blood elite. :)

I get it though, even with success, without the hardware, at least occasionally, it will ring hollow.

Gotta love how you continue to reference VPI when everyone knows em by Virginia Tech or VT...but anyway they only lost two and they were super close loses too. I expect VT to continue to bounce back starting tomorrow like they always do.
As for Oregon taking a loss well it happens, you can't win them all and anything can happen on any given saturday it has been proven over and over that is why you play the game...period.

Well as I just posted and since Derwin pointed it out too that if VT would have been undefeated and continued to win then OSU would have maybe an outside shot of a 1 loss but VT isn't and they've lost two games but at least they were super close losses. Lots more football to be played but I don't see OSU getting into the playoff sorry.

I'd like to play that game in 2 weeks ... now that the Bucks QB has a clue playing College football, also the O line that also only had played 1 game together has started to gell.

Can we do that ?

Didn't think so.

Thats why I hate the very early Big Games, someone has to lose and that team is usually done, unless of course your an sec team.
