dishstandsbyyou gives you a great credit for fox dispute

prove it
it has been shown many times dish is ~$5 less than a comparable dtv package. neither can compare to a cable bundle.

You are wasting your time trying to argue with these people. They proudly call themselves "Charlie's Angels" for their die-hard support for Charlie Ergen and Dish Network. Nothing you can say will change their minds.

where were they during all the other disputes?

prove it.

Why don't you take the time to prove it? You can't keep making things up and expect everyone to just say you are right. You couldn't be more wrong. And I did prove it in a few recent posts but unless you do a comparison for yourself you will just keep saying the same thing no matter what proof I show. Two rooms with a DVR in each room, and with DISH a built in OTA tuner in each, two similar packages and Direct would be $15 more - and you won't like this but after both raise their rates Direct will be $16.50 more. One room I believe is more of savings, three rooms slightly less than the two room savings I believe. So you can keep posting nonsense about the savings that can be had, while I save in the neighborhood of $200 each year over Direct, and at least that much with Charter Fios and around that much with Brighthouse.\
You are even mistaken about a cable bundle in many instances but keep trying.

Disney requested a high increase, and I think many people at this board have indicated how they feel about it. They over bid for programming and then force us to pay for it.

Fox lost programming rights, split up channels and diluted their programming. And now they want higher fees for those channels that are still under contract and are using FNC viewers as pawns to do it.

And for what it is worth ESPN's coverage of the college football playoff game set ratings record and the ratings bar. Until people start walking away from the events on ESPN the prices will continue to get paid. Fox (FS1) does not have a comparable product that produces the same ratings and viewer hold in the right demographics.

Allright to make it basic for you with all the new pricing in effect. The plan is $4 difference, but the equipment getting it to your TV is more. You really need to pay attention to the details to ensure you are not ripped off.

Top 200 for Dish is $74.99 for 236 channels
Hopper DVR Fee $12
1st TV fee included
2nd TV charge $7

Xtra for Directv is $78.99
Whole HOme DVR fee $15
1st TV charge $6
2nd TV charge $6
Fee for local RSN ???????

You are really going to argue Dish's $93.99 versus $105.99 for the "most popular" packages? Make sure you include the typical component. Maybe you get a few extra RSNs, maybe not. Directv has to pay for the Sunday Ticket charge. Dish has Pac 12. There are some other differences.

Proof is in the pudding. You need to admit you are wrong.

"these people"... ..."Charlie's Angels"...

Name calling rather than fact is no way to settle a disagreement. The facts of this dispute have been made clear, and it is a fact that some customers like FNC and FBN. So what? Neither has anything to do with being a fan ,or not, of "Charlie". "Liking" Dish is more likely to refer to the product - Hoppers, etc. and program options.

wow, you guys are really outdoing yourselves.

My RSN fee with Direct would be $3.00 more added to the bill.

I see he now knows he is wrong but just can't say so. Rather than go to the actual sites of both companies and do the comparison as of today as we did he goes to some generic chart. I don't even know what that site shows or doesn't show because it is irrelevant without going through the actual process to see the final costs.
Since he knows that I won't keep this going and replying to made up things when the facts are presented.

No, I am fully aware of that. You fail to understand all the back room fixed costs that have to be captured across the fewer channels (and revenue) a customer subscribes to. You are over simplifying life, unfortunately.
Actually, the math is pretty simple. If, for instance, I choose not to subscribe to ESPN in this a la carte scenario, I pay ~$5 less per month.

The carriers would build that fixed cost into their base package(s), and price it to realize a profit, as they do now. They would also price each content provider's channels for a profit above what they pay. And, just as now, they make more revenue and more profit from customers who subscribe to more channels/higher packages.

Same here, I got the $50 yesterday, PPV email on Saturday....

Just received an email with two PPV certificates! If this is part of the DishStandsByYou, this is the best channel dispute of all time! Does TLC want to have a dispute? ;) Granted, I've never used one, but maybe I will this time around.
I got my PPV certs via snail mail. I wonder if I'll get an email too?

midnight lounge with dish would be $318.89 added to the bill.
The RSN is more likely going to be on the bill.

For single receiver households, Dish is mildly cheaper than Directv. Now you may get more with Directv, Super Rugby, Champions League coverage, but in general, you'll save a few bucks with Dish over Directv if you have a single receiver. The difference gets smaller for multiple receiver homes.

I don't know why some people get so uppity about this being true.

What are you proving by posting this link? You're just showing how DirecTV's package prices are higher but you are not showing comparable equipment prices and that's where prices can really add up.

yeah, but that is a choice you make.

dtv packages are higher, but not by much- as has been shown here many, many times.

agreed.

the 722 + 211k w/ dvr has been great. cheaper than hopper + joey, even though those are definitely nice.

package prices are close, equipment is your choice of what you are willing to pay for.

You too are wrong, why not go to the Direct Site and pick one DVR in one room and do it with DISH instead of generalizing. Then pick two, then pick three. Did you know Direct now charges for the first receiver and DISH does not, just as starters? The DISH DVR fee is less?
And then you guys have the nerve to compare a choice charge of Midnight Lounge with a forced $3 charge in the areas imposed? Geeze.

No 1:1 comparison on equipment charges there.

But you all know this is irrelevant, right? If Dish were more expensive than every other service on the planet I would still think this is the right thing to do. There is already a contract in place for two unrelated channels that Fox wants to nullify. Dish wants them to honor the terms of that contract. Fox decided to halt negotiations on FoxNews and Fox Business even though Dish was going to give them what they were asking for those channels until Dish agrees to open negotiations on unrelated channels. That to, to me, is completely wrong.
