Yes, I answered, I use dreamweaver. But I also edit in notepad. I also saw xmlnotepad, it makes sense.
Installed xmlnotepad in CrossOver (since I'm using a Mac). Must install .NET Framework 2.0 1st in CrossOver for it to work. I I used the Windows 8 bottle to set it up... Notepad also works good in CrossOver. My file now works properly. I also updated the firmware on the receiver to 1107. So far so good... THANKS for the tips!

This is not too complicated and I understand your struggle, this is useful for me as well, especially with weak transponders.
Thank you for the reminder.
I would like the option to totally disable the Child Lock password for DVR Recordings. I hate having to enter the password for every video before I can watch my recordings. :thumbdown:censored:oldmad:thumbdown

It is already there. Just go into the Settings, Parental Control, and turn Off the System lock and Parental rating. I felt the same way and turned mine off too.

Does not work for my DVR Recordings, but does work everywhere else. I just rebooted and tried recording new video, and it still makes me put in the password

FYI: If you get "Failed To Connect" message, that's because the channel isn't broadcasting at the moment. All of these worked but they don't seem to be full time, just while a game or other program is being broadcasted live.

Here's my custom IPTV file I created and tested with the 1107 firmware installed.
Over 50 channels! Religious, Sports, News, Weather, Spanish, Italian, and more.
Unzip, copy to flash drive, install to your receiver, and enjoy!
Feel free to edit for your own personal needs.
It creates a new Misc category in the IPTV channel lists.
Also if you get "Failed To Connect" message, that's because the channel isn't broadcasting at the moment.
WARNING: a few of the foreign channels may contain nudity at times.

I had mine connected via the ethernet connection and streaming wasn't as problematic as you describe. Never tried the WiFi. (I say that in the past tense because I shipped it back today).

So as a workaround, maybe try streaming via ethernet instead of the WiFi? Could be a WiFi driver problem in the HDVR3500.

Hope it works out.
I have been watching the IPTV and XBMC channels and have really enjoyed the video and programming that I have discovered. At first it was almost unwatchable because our only rural cable internet service was limited to 3meg speed so it was continuous buffer-buffer-buffer. Recently our service was upgraded and we now have 30meg (maximum) available with about a net speed of 21meg via WIFI according to Speed Test. Most programming, probably 80-90%, is smooth and nearly no buffering but when watching a program with High Definition and a lot of screen motion I do still have occasional buffering. I have been using WIFI but am thinking of connecting via Ethernet connection with a Cat5 patch cable. Even though my router is only 10-15 feet away from my HDVR3500 unit I am going to have to route the cable up through the attic and down a wall to keep the wire out of the walking path. The routing up and over will be about 50 feet long. Will a 50 ft. cable be too long for a good ethernet connection? I am not knowledgeable of the limits for ethernet cable lengths on a network..

You shouldn't have any problem with 50'.

I think the limit is 100 meters (300+ feet), so you should be good. I was lucky because my house was built in 2010 and was pre-wired with Cat-5 inside the walls throughout the house. I like to minimize the amount of Wi-Fi because it goes out every time someone turns on our microwave oven.

What I would like to know is when you pick glorystar or FTA, Will the box firmware pick all fta or just looking for G19.
With the 1045 and 1107 firmware I have seen that my diseqc D is set wrong ( diseqc D 22khz on works correct for G16.
But the firmware sets SES 2 diseqc D with 22khz on also, which should be off. ) Now if I change any settings it will find
SES 2 transponders, But the channel will show no signal. And with diseqc A 22 khz ON echostar 9 works but diseqc A
22 khz off which is SES 1 if I turn lnbf power OFF I will get GEB and one other transponder only and shows a picture, But if I
turn the LNBF power ON I get all transponders but again the channels show no singal.

diseqc A 22khz off = SES 1
diseqc A 22khz on = echostar 9

diseqc B 22khz off = amc 21 Has never worked 80 per signal
diseqc B 22khz on = G19 97W

diseqc C 22khz off / on = no dish

diseqc D 22khz off = SES 2
diseqc D 22khz on = G16 99W

Looks like you have multiple fixed dishes, or LNBs? What LNBs are you using and what DISEqC switch?

The 22 Khz setting will go to auto and be grayed out if you have a universal LNB Lo set in the settings, like one with a Lo of 9750/10600 will be Auto and grayed out so it can't be changed. If the LNB Lo is not universal, like 10750, then you can change the 22 Khz setting. Make sure your Lo is set to whatever it should be for the LNB, of course. If you're only using a DISEqC switch and no standalone 22Khz switches, whatever the receiver sets the 22 Khz to should work, if the right LNB Lo is set in the receiver.

For the DISEqC Mode, I'd consider using DISEqC 1.1 if you do have multiple LNBs, instead of DISEqC1.0. With the 1.0, you can only have four dishes on A, B, C and D unless you play around with the 22Khz switching, which won't work with universal LNBs. With the DISEqC 1.1 you can have 1-16 LNBs and just leave the 22Khz at whatever the receiver defaults to for your LNB, hook a cable to port 1 on the DISEqC switch and then set the receiver to DISEqC 1.1, port 1. Then the next LNB cable to port 2 on the DISEqC switch and receiver set to DISEqC 1.1 port 2, and so on for all the rest.

Is there a download link to bookmark for the most up to date "official" list or is it take dsmith's list a few posts ago and add in any additional links that are posted to that list?

Thanks dsmith.

Finding legitimate links can be difficult, and I'm trying to use only official links. I shared my results hoping it would be of benefit to someone, or maybe SatelliteAV can choose to add some to the list included with the receiver in future updates. I'm sure for now making sure all the bugs get worked out of the receiver is SatelliteAV's priority at the moment.
