Submit two HDVR3500 remotes to Slingbox for IR mapping and addition to the available remote database.
The new remote with correct Mute button print is on the airplane from China. I didn't want to confuse anyone with the old print without the Mute button.

Hi,,Any idea when this 22KHz issue will be fixed?...I have had this box for about three weeks now it's probably to late to get a refund?...I spent the first two weeks checking stuff out on my end and about a week on here waiting and I still have not been able to blind scan anything right yet.....This is very disappointing and not normal, this thread was started probably seven months ago....Where can I download a working 22KHz firmware version like you stated?....I prefer a satellite download if possible also where can I download version 1297 firmware for a backup?.... JJ

I am sorry, I am working on permanent solution. I will refund you with no questions, but the refund is not issue resolved, give me extra day or two.

So does this mean that the ones of us who purchased the original HDVR3500 and accompanying remote will need to purchase a New Remote to work properly with our receivers to allow us to access all of the functions that are now available? I downloaded and installed from the posted here 1311 file link and after updating with that downloaded file the GOTO button still did not MUTE as I thought it was supposed to.

No, just the GOTO words will be replaced with MUTE. The 1311 is only for the old ones. i will post the 1314 in a moment. 1314 Corrects the remote buttons.

Team, I posted 1314 as default update to correct back the buttons. Minor adjustment to recording feature included as well.
Please go to Menu > Manager > Version > Online Upgrade and select firmware once connected. Those who have auto update turned on, will just get the message the firmware is ready to install, click ok.

Please let me know any performance issues.

Pending resolution: 22Khz leak and Disceqc command leak over 22Khz. Should be resolved shortly.

In the life of these receivers, every new firmware ads/enables features that were planned or requested by our customers. The MicroHD remote was approved by SlingBox and we are working to make the HDVR3500 remote work separately and attempted to merge them. Apparently, some codes interfere with each other, so we will leave 1311 available for those that need the microHD remote.

Never thought of Sling Box. Thanks, that make sense to me now.

Team,
Posted Firmware 1314 - fixes the remote control back to normal. Minor corrections to motor control.

Pending - Diseqc and 22Khz leaking issues.

So, if I want to use my 3500 with a Slingbox, should I use firmware 1311? And if so, does that mean I'm choosing between Slingbox compatibility and future updates in other areas?

1311 is the firmware that completely works with microHD remote that is approved by Slingbox. We are planning to also approve HDVR3500 remote, where you will not need to miss updates or features. Hope that makes it clear.

OK, I see.

In the meantime, there is a way for us to just manually add the remote control:

Maybe if you published the BIN file, it would save a lot of effort having it submitted and approved by Sling?

I had a curious question. I record a lot of things and keep them, I got really tired of trying to rename files with the remote. Noticed earlier you talked about a few keyboards that work with the system. So I bought one of the recommended ones. Oops, it literally only works with the web browser. Ugh, I still can only use the remote for renaming files. My question is just is there any other way to rename things? I guess taking the USB to my computer would be about the only other way?

The best way to manage many recordings is to connect to your receiver from Windows computer.
If you have a simple home network with one internet router, most likely your computer and receiver will be on the same subnet, so that they can see each other. If you have more complicated network setup, than hopefully you will be able to put them on the same subnet.

To connect from windows pc, please write down the IP address that receiver has. (Menu > Settings > Network Settings)
Open Windows Explorer Or File Manager (Most people know it as My Computer) - then type in the address field \\192.168.0.xxx - basically your receiver ip address.
That should connect to the receiver and show Share - open the share and you will see all drives that are connected to the receiver, both internal and external.

Please go to Record directory and find your recordings. When renaming, remember every recording has two files, the Index (pointer) file and the actual video. Please rename both in order for this to work. First try with one. Don't rename them all at once and then forget which one was the index which one was the video.

Let me know if this worked for you. I will create a video detailing this.

Well thanks, this would be better than nothing, if only I had a single windows computer on my network. I'm a mac guy and evidently the box doesn't support SMB. I get a connection error trying to connect. Oh well, just wish the keyboard would work in all areas. Not the end of the world though, thanks.

Of course mac supports smb.
Have you tried smb://ip address /share name

http://users.wfu.edu/yipcw/atg/apple/smb/

if not Linux or even a Pi connected to a usb drive supports smb.

Yes I know mac supports SMB, my comment said "evidently the box doesn't support SMB". The satellite box doesn't seem to support it. It just comes back with an error that it's the wrong version trying to connect to the box. So it is connecting and communicating but fails to make a connection.

You may have to make some tweaks depending on exact OS version:

In 10.4, you may have to change your /etc/nsmb.conf

see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1564 for details

In 10.5, see http://www.it.usyd.edu.au/~support/w/moin.cgi/OsxMountNetworkDirectory (among others)
