Tried doing a recording on 80's on 8 this AM, to be greeted with "The requested recording is not allowed for this event". It's doing this on all my Ho's...can someone with a non-Ho DVR &/or 211 w/external HDD, try recording anything on these channels?
Also, while it appears the "workaround" for live mobile streaming works, it won't let you record it from there, either:

Well guess it was nice while it lasted...it's BS, but I'm guessing SXM had a hissy when they realized E* subs could record their programming. I did enjoy recording things such as VJ Big 40 countdown, etc., so that I could listen to the complete show when it was convenient...oh well.
This doesn't seem to affect the DISH CD/Music channels in the 900's...also, several SXM recordings I already have on the DVR are still playable.

Honestly, the sound quality of SiriusXM radio as carried on Dish is so poor, I wouldn't want to record it. The Dish radio channels are somewhat better.

I mainly listen to Spotify or 320kb radio stations, so maybe I am a little bit spoiled.

yes the siriusxm music channels sound like crap i just wished we had more music choices on the hopper 3 and you guys know which ones i want so dang bad.

"Recording not allowed" on my 211 / ehd. It's been a while since I tried, but it did work before.
Sounds GOOD here.

I am a real stickler about good classical music, so I never listen to anything below 256 Kbps, Spotify and some radio stations I listen to are at 320 kbps. If you listen to Pop Music, there isn't a need for such high fidelity, but I always thought Pandora is the best thing on the Hopper. To each his own.

i agree with you on that point does anyone know the kbps on the siriusxm music channels?i know that this may never happen on the hopper and yes scott already told me it may or may not happen this year tunein and iheart.i listen to alot on tunein some stations i listen on there are 128kbps i listen to a rockabilly show on tuesday nights wcbn out of michigan and their stream is 296kpbs and it sounds pretty good on my 5.1 vizio bluetooth sound system.

Sirius sounds like 96 Kbps and the other Dish channels sound like 128 kbps. Pandora sounds like 128 kbps to me.
i was just wondering about that what kbps were on pandora, siriusxm and dish music channels.i would like to see if dish can get the siriusxm music channels to 128kbps.some people like other music choices i have been helping trying to get more radio stations to get on tunein so that way you have more radio stations to listen to.its taking me a while to contact alll the radio stations not on tunein.so i am helping out good people in the meantime.

I thouoght Dish gets a fiber optic feed from SirriusXM that is superior to the audio subscribers get accessing SirruisXm sat signals, but who knows how much Dish compresses that fiber optic feed for uplink to us. When bandwidth is tight, audio is often crushed for the sake of video PQ on the TV channels, as well, along with other components of the video data.

i just wish they would sound alot better than what we got now i am listeing to the siriusxm bluegrass junction and it sounds like it is 96kbps

It likely is tied to why you cannot "watch" the SiriusxM channels on DishAnywhere anymore either. Haven't been able to for awhile now.

Sure you can, go to live TV and enter 099** (on a Hopper) and you will go to that Sirius channel.

** = Sirius channel number
