I am trying to get the local high school to donate this to me. Anyone know what brand of dish this is?

I can't get the pics to stay up long enough to identify anything with this new software. Really wish they would fix it.
When the shadowbox opens the picture, immediately click on the arrow next to the "close window X" in the shadowbox and the picture opens in it's own window. From there you can click on the picture and see it in it's original size format and click back to windowed size. :)

BTW this fault is in the default satellite guys theme only. Change your theme and no more issue. But I want it fixed too ;)

I don't have a clue what brand that dish is but it looks like it could be well worth the effort to bring home.

It's a minimum of 8', possibly 9 or 10.

Looks like a minimum of 24" actuator, possibly a Venture.

Aluminum reflector?

I got a 10' Winegard/AJAK from a school once, an offer of $50 made it an easy unanimous vote for the school board.

Don't know what brand it is but you should be able to zoom in and use the Ruler feature of Google Earth to get the approximate size of the dish. :)

Thanks, its looking better today I heard back from the Superintendent saying the dish is not being used in the district. He is going to check on the process that will need to be followed if the district were to donate it to me. I sure hope this works out.

There is an AJAK H180 with a Unimesh Perf on top of my old high school that was blown 90° off azimuth now pointing East about 20 years ago it seems. I've approached them about removing it for them but it's a little tricky acquiring public (government) property. And not a priority for them until there comes an issue. ;)

BTW as phlatwound noted, that does look like a Venture actuator on that dish.

That dish looks in great shape. Hopefully they'll let you have it.

I got my 10' SAMI with a NPRM that was on top of a county owned building. During their weekly meeting, the County Commissioners agreed to let the dish go for free. However, I would be charged for labor and equipment costs for the Road and Bridge crew to take it off the county building. The final bill was only $50.

Love that story, hope I get this one in the end, I think it might be a one piece dish.

If they decide to keep it, you could mentor some staff and students on satellite technology. Maybe some of the science / technology classes or groups might be interested in what is up there? Imagine the science class being able to view NASA in 4k! Please contact me if it goes this direction and I would be interested in donating an ASC1.

That works but only if there's only 1 or 2 images. If there are, say, 4 or 5 images the panel closes before any images display due to it taking longer to load them all. Not good.

You don't have to wait for the shadowbox to load the image before switching to a separate window. :)

Yes i agree with MS it sure looks like a DH with a polar mount & Venture actuator.

So if this is a 3.0 Meter DH Solid one piece dish, How much do you think it weighs? I'm trying to plan for how many guys it will take to load it on the trailer. Good news is if I do get it we only have to drive it a few blocks, max speed 10 MPH if that.

Are you sure that is a solid? I believe that I see seams.

With mount attached probably around 350 lbs. Reflector only - 100+ lbs Polar mount 250 lbs.
I see that too, but when I looked on the back of the dish there was no seams. I think they offered the dish both ways, maybe this is some factory markings telling them where to chop it up. I really don't know though.
