2019-20 NCAA Football Thread

Championship game both teams have great QB's but I don't think anyone is stopping Burrow. LSU by a touchdown. If Clemson pulls it off that's 3 National Titles since the inception of the playoff.

And now the poaching continues ...
After officially losing our Defensive coach Mike Hafley to HC at Boston College, we now lose your Offensive Co ordinator to Texas and Tom Herman.

They say, if you hire top notch Coaches, they will move on ... but it would be nice to get some continuity, more than 1 year out of these guys.

I'm reading that he was moving on anyways .... he was not calling the plays at OSU, was giving input but that Day was making the actual play call and that he was not moving to the OC position in Columbus. (Kevin Wilson is still there and Day)

Yep, it happens. Bama deals with it on a yearly basis. I would love to have them stick around longer, but I can certainly understand why they dont.

After reading another article, it looks like he was Not an OC at OSU, so it is a good move for him as he wasn't going to take over the OC position there.

Looks like Kevin Wilson and Ryan Day will work the offense , much like they did this year, Yourich also had input into the offense ... particularly passing wise ... which I thought was what Wilson was suppose to be doing ....
Theres some talk that maybe Brian Hartline (WR coach) will take a larger role ... hes been GREAT so far.

So I like the new playoff system, but why play them before the other bowls? The schedule is seriously screwed up. New Years Day should end with the playoff games and then the championship a week later. Why play the only games that matter first?

They have had the schedule screwed up since the beginning ... This year it was on the Sat before the new year because most complained about last year (I think it was last year) when they scheduled the Semi's on NYE ....

IF they were smart, they would play the Championship game on a Saturday night ... which they currently won't due to the NFL games going on.

Championship game on a Monday Night, can it be ANY stupider ?
No one can attend any parties on a work night ...

With the bowls involved in the playoffs, some of them won’t move their traditional time slots.

So many useless bowls on with teams that have no business playing in them. Just cut it back to the 4 that count. Sugar, Rose, Cotton, Orange.

I see that a lot, but personally I want as much college football as I can get. I often enjoy some of these lesser bowls, as often you will find some great games in them. Even if they don’t mean anything.

Personally, I think there are way too many bowl games ... they have now been given out like the "Thanks for participating" ...
There should be better requirements to get into a bowl...

Years ago, you had to at least have a decent season to go to one.

I think they should be required to win at least 2 games over .500 to be eligible.

Bowls don’t mean what they used to, with the playoffs why would they?

that being said, if they have no bearing on final rankings or the championship, why would any football fan be against more games ?

I just don't like it when your given a bowl invite for a game over .500 or less.

Only problem with that is, the number of bowls now make it hard to do that as many slots would not get filled.

But the games don’t impact anything, so why does it matter? The bowls mean nothing except more football. They don’t decide anything. They just give us more games to watch. Hell let everyone have a extra game. With the system in place I’d be ok with it. I’d rather it be on campus but football is football.

I'd rather go back to when there was 20 or less bowl games ... THOSE would mean something .... you would have to actually have a good season to make one ... However, your right, now that the playoffs are here, they don't have the same significance.
