The Official SatelliteGuys TV Repack Topic

Is there a convenient database showing the actual repack dates for stations in a given market? Baltimore is coming up to bat now and I was lookinf for info on WBFF, WMAR and WJZ.

There is a link in the very first post in this thread. Here is the Baltimore market repack assignments.
WBFF (45) and WMPB (22) are in Phase 8. The rest are in Phase 9.

Thanks but that does not include the information I was seeking. Or, if it does, I cannot see it.

I was looking for exact dates (if announed) . Not ifnormation on phases.

Phase 8 is supposed to be complete by 3/13/2020. Phase 9 is supposed to be complete by 5/01/2020. As we approach those dates, I'm sure that the stations will be putting up notices to rescan your TV's.

WBFF has not announced a date. WMPB had previously announced a tentative 3/3 date, but that's been removed from their website as far as I can tell.

Thanks. It sounds like there is no database or reference for this but I will monitor each station's website. I was hoping t would be easier but that was not a realistic expectation.

tvanswers.org is supposed to be that site, but I've found it to be only somewhat reliable. Plenty of stations seem to ignore its existence and never provide dates.

Thank you. I will check there from time to time.

They put the dates back, and they no longer say "Tentative" next to them.

Thank you Trip. I am in falls Church, VA. I get WMPT well and WMPB has always been erratic for me--though there is no need to get more than one of these channels.

I guess WBFF still has not posted any information about a specific repack date. Please do nto post information about the phases and when they end. i think we al know rthat. My original question was more secific.

I'm sure this is redundant for the vast majority of you but there seems to be at least one member who has absolutely no understanding of what the term "repack" means as applied to OTA so here's a simple explanation.

Let's say there are 3 city blocks and each block has 5 three story buildings with 1 occupant per building. Now the government decides it needs the 2nd and 3rd blocks for redevelopment and since it owns all the property it decides to go ahead with the project. But what to do with the people? Well they decide to convert the 5 buildings in the 1st block to 3 story apartment buildings and move the people in there, 1 per floor. So now we have the same number of people (not less) occupying a smaller area making the 2nd and 3rd blocks free for redevelopment. But in addition the 15 people now living in those 5 buildings are encouraged to take in roommates and many do so the number of people grows but the square footage remains the same. That's the OTA "repack" in a hutshell.

I have trackers blocked, but if that's a link to BaltoMedia on Facebook, I strongly encourage you to ignore him. Other experts and I have been in long arguments with him about the inaccuracy of his statements and he refuses to back down. (See here: facebook.com/BaltoMedia/posts/2913850045348173?comment_id=2914480288618482 Had to cripple the link to make it not convert to huge empty space.)

He is no better than a tabloid.

According to local media WBFF will change to its new frequency on March 13 at 10 AM.

I was unable to get it in March but I rescanned recently and now get WBFF, WUTB (they channel share) and WMPB. i now receive 72 channels (inclding all subchannels) OTA. There isa lot of duplication between the DC and Baltimore markets.
