Hello.
Yes, I just registered today.
I'd like to know if old equipment (e.g. pre-merger) is still usable.
I had XM service, but had to drop it about 2006. Are the radio and antenna still usable?

I'm a lifetime subscriber to XM and I have the Delphi home radio that came out when they started and I use it every day.:welcome2:wave2

I don't think you'll be able to hear the "extra" channels but the main ones should be there. Which model do you have?

BTW SXM has FREEVIEW dates periodically during the year. Most previously activated radios will receive the promotional stations for a week or two during these times.

It should be. Hook it up and see if you get channels 0 and 1.

Yes, that worked! Channel 0 is the radioid and 1 is Preview.
It's been so long since I used it that I forgot about that!

Now the next question...will they activate it?

Why wouldn't they?

It's the XMDirect module -- XMD1000, meant to be used with a car head unit. I guess that aftermarket HU manufacturers didn't integrate satellite yet.

Cool!
Does that get announced on this forum?

The answer to your last question is if someone decides to post it. Sirius/XM doesn't do it.

you can activate a stolen radio since the acct is not tied to the radio it's tied to the person from what they told me... though more that likely you won't get the 2.0 channels on an older model

My sportster from the late 90s still works. It doesn't get all the channels available now on the app or even your car radio but it gets Stern and alot of the lower channels. Still some sports. I use it around the house. Your best bet is the app if at home if you want everything.

Sent from my LM-G710VM using the SatelliteGuys app!

Some page somewhere SiriusXm has or had information that any radio would work. As others have pointed out you just won't get the newer upper end channels. People call into 60's on 6 sometimes telling the host they are still using their original Delphi radio etc....
