Yeah, I accepted this update and one of my boxes a year ago and regretted it soon afterwards, and never upgraded my other Tivos. I moved to a U-Verse neighborhood a few months ago, so all my Tivos are packed-away hoping for a traditional cable TV provide to offer service in the new subdivision. The streaming services are okay, but they're no substitute for Tivo. I don't know anyone who likes the new User Interface.

I got Hydra when it was in beta and haven’t turned back. Like it much better than the old UI.

I never changed to Hydra for a big reason because it doesn't (or didn't) have the Tivo Live Guide a favorite feature of mine. There are other things I could probably get used to but why bother, I'm fine with the existing UI.

Where is your post located?
2nd post of this thread, but here is the link to the TCF post with the instructions

and the instructions

1.) Go into Menu- Help- Reset to Defaults- Repeat Guided Setup- Select
2.) Press Thumbs Down 2 times (NOT 3!), now press Rewind 2 times, Now press Select (not Enter)
3.) Roamio will immediately go to that right arrow screen, then screen blank, then you'll get a message letting you know that the rollback process has begun

Still works as I rolled my Roamios back to TE3 a couple weeks ago. Left my Bolts and one Mini on TE4 because I need HDMI CEC on the Bolts, which is not available on TE3

My Roamio OTA lifetime model frequently updates when doing the data refresh for the guide. It's only connected to the network occasionally and powered off most of the time unless needed. In the past 2 years mainly for the Decades TV channel weekend binges.

After the rollback, I would be worried it could upgrade itself again. I'm not sure if there is a menu setting to deactivate such events or if it will require confirmation beforehand.

They NEVER pushed that update. It's ALWAYS been manually activated by the user. I have a Roamio since 2014, and never updated it to that "New Experience". They still provide updates for the older software.
